Mike Rowe, best known for his Discovery Channel series, ‘Dirty Jobs’, visited Dick Taylor Chocolate in Old Town, Eureka as part of his series, ‘Somebody’s Gotta Do It’ in 2015.
In the episode, Dick Taylor Chocolate’s creators, Adam Dick & Dustin Taylor, share the history of how they transformed their carpentry business into a chocolate factory, all while teaching Mike the ins and outs of chocolate making.

Great! Looks like they made it at Almquist Lumber in Arcata. The chocolate 🍫 looks great, but super expensive. Maybe they could make a line of chocolate that’s more affordable. $8-$16 for one bar is pretty expensive. Had no idea these guys were hipsters…….
They are also the Huckleberry Flint band.
What a great local success story, and not fueled by grow money. Hard work, dedication, vision, crafty, mechanical talent, family support…all the right ingredients.
