Local Resident Aids Trinity County Search and Rescue Efforts in Reaching Snow-Bound Elder
As some residents in high elevations continue to deal with snow pack, we’d like to look back on a rescue mission conducted by the Trinity County Search and Rescue team with the help of some well-equipped locals in the Kettenpom area just over a week ago.
A elder resident of the area needed medication yet was unable to leave her residence due to heavy snow impacting her driveway. Search and Rescue team members attempted to deliver the much-needed meds to the resident, however the snow was so deep the teams machines were unable to travel in the difficult conditions until a local resident with a large piece of machinery was able to assist in creating a pathway for the team members.
The medications were delivered successfully due to the combined efforts of TCSAR and local residents.

we need more people like this resident! more people who are able and willing to help others in their time of need. Who knows when it will be you that needs it. lets pay it forward.
Something a lot of backwoods people do for one another….. Something they don’t need to be asked, only pointed in the direction. When shit hits the fan you’re not calling politicians, you’re calling able bodies…..
And… there is going to be another foot or two of snow at higher elevations this week.
Humboldt and Trinity Sheriff/SAR need a good ‘old fashioned’ Tucker Sno-Cat.
(Or modern equivalent.) One pictured is Sheriff/SAR from Butte County.
Snowmobiles and snow cats are great. It’s just all them fallen trees that slow ya down.
Good work everyone, way to pitch in and get it done!!
