Old Town Rotary Club of Eureka Holding Rhododendron Parade on April 29th

This is a press release from the Old Town Rotary Club of Eureka:

The Old Town Rotary Club of Eureka will be organizing the 2023 Annual Rhododendron Parade on Saturday April 29, 2023. The Parade begins at 10 AM at 7th and E Streets in Eureka. The Parade theme is “Hometown Super Heroes” and will celebrate non-traditional heroes within our community who give selflessly of themselves to benefit others.

Jack and Michelle Rieke of Shafer’s Hardware will be celebrated as the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade. Shafer’s Hardware has donated thousands to local charitable groups often without any recognition of their contribution. Old Town Rotary is grateful to the Rieke’s and their most recent donation of building materials for the Carson Park bathrooms.

Community groups, individuals and schools are invited to participate in the 2023 Parade and there is no entry fee required. Prizes will be awarded for the most “Beautiful”, most “Original” and the Grand Marshal’s trophy for the best use of theme, “Hometown Super Heroes”.

School and community bands are invited to participate for a chance to win cash prizes for “Best Band” and additional monetary awards for runner up positions.
