This program also supports cell phone service for internet connectivity.
Beware: I got this program ($30. discount) through Optimum/Suddenlink and they immediately raised my bill that exact same amount, claiming that some promotion had coincidentally expired so that I received absolutely no discount!
pcsforpeople.com will give you a mobile hotspot for $30 and the internet completely free. Can also pick up laptops for like $50. Somewhat miss qualifying for the program
I got completely ripped by “Optimum” too… THEN they did everything they could to keep me from dropping the service! I still get regular mail & door-to-door from them too.
I have netlink 101 & this program cut my internet bill in half. I kinda like that.
Why on earth is this being posted now? The federal public health emergency is ending, and with it the ACP program is ending too.
I signed up for the ACP with Suddenlink/Optimum, and they said that counted as a “change” to my service, so instead of paying the $25/month plan that I had they raised it to $85/month — that’s including the $30 ACP discount.
It took me hours and hours on customer service to get them to reverse the change. Beware.
It takes 2 months for the ACP discount to show up on your bill. If you sign up now, you might get a month or two of a discount before the program ends, and then you’ll be stuck paying much higher fees because of the “change” you’ve made to your account plan.
ACP is a great program, and pretty easy to apply for. Just go in and see if you qualify, and if you do you get the info needed to pass on to your internet provider.
