Vaccine Awareness Week Focuses on Preteens

Press release from Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS):Humboldt County Department of Health & (and) Human Services DHHS

Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) is reminding parents and caregivers about the importance of immunizations for their preteens ages 11 and 12 and teenagers.

DHHS’s Public Health branch is joining agencies throughout California in promoting the annual Preteen Vaccine Week Feb. 26 through March 4.

This annual, weeklong campaign was designed to focus on the health of preteens by encouraging regular doctor visits and up-to-date vaccines.

Supervising Public Health Nurse Melinda McLarin said, “Vaccines are the safest and most effective way to protect your children from serious vaccine-preventable illness and diseases.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that young people ages 11 and 12 years old receive the following vaccines:

  • COVID-19
  • Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough)- All students entering 7th grade need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school. This vaccine is recommended for young people between the ages of 11 and 12 years old.
  • HPV (human papillomavirus)- This is a three-dose series recommended for boys and girls.
  • Meningococcal- Preteens need one shot now and a booster between ages 16 and 18.
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)- Check with your health care provider to make sure both doses have been administered, it is common for children not to receive the second dose.
  • Influenza (flu) vaccine is needed every year.

For more information about immunizations, contact your child’s health care provider or the Public Health Clinic if they do not have one. Public Health is hosting a preteen vaccination clinic on Friday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. The clinic is located at 529 I St. in Eureka. Call 707-268-2108 to make an appointment. Public Health Clinic is also available for vaccine appointments Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

The clinic is for preteens, but they’re holding it during school hours. Who thought that up?

I mean we’re are 2 years deep into this and if you so pro vax for kids at the survival rate we know, you might as well just donate to phizer yearly directly. Natural immunity has shown more effective from whatever phizer funded rag you want NYT,Wapo,Raueters etc etc

Are you gonna get a covid booster every year? Do you know why you get a flu shot every year? Do you think the flu shot is the same every year? Are you gonna keep taking THE SAME covid booster every year?

Sigh… again.
1) We’re 3 years in.
2) Link to your claim that natural immunity is better?
3) No, the Flu shot is not the same every year, just as the COVID vaccine is not the same a the first ones. They update them to keep up with the mutating virus.

That’s funny…

‘The evolution of seasonal influenza viruses’

https://www.nature.com/articles/nrmicro.2017.118

“Given that 5–15% of the global human population is infected with seasonal influenza viruses each year, it is surprising that new antigenic variants arise only every 3–5 years for A/H3N2 viruses and less frequently for A/H1N1 and B viruses”

1) Two years in on the vaccine debate.
2) Common sense.
3) Now that the flu shots may be MRNa gene manipulation, both are suspect to a logically skeptical person.

At least try…

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/natural-immunity-protective-covid-vaccine-severe-illness-rcna71027

‘Immunity acquired from a Covid infection is as protective as vaccination against severe illness and death, study finds’

“The immunity generated from an infection was found to be “at least as high, if not higher” than that provided by two doses of an mRNA vaccine.”

Thanks for the link. The one from rollin is useless since it’s just a link to Youtube.
However, from the link you posted,: “Still, experts stress that vaccination is the preferable route to immunity, given the risks of Covid, particularly in unvaccinated people.”
And, it still seems that vaccination plus a previous infection is superior to merely having been infected. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00961-3

Sounds very familiar.

But what you seem to refuse to acknowledge is that after a COVID infection, a vaccination would not even be necessary, at least for a period of 10 months or so.

And you also seem to refuse to acknowledge is that vaccination after a recent infection is more likely to lead to adverse events, even moreso after a second dose of a two dose primary vaccination series than after the first primary vaccination dose.

And any additional efficacy advantage is relatively minimal, considering the fact that it can come with measurable additional risk.

There is nothing “expert” about dismissing that risk.

It’s simply carelessness.

It’s important to keep an open mind.

LOL. Let me rephrase that for you. The one from rollin is useless because it destroys my argument, showing the vaccine cult’s idol, the “expert” himself, professing natural immunity to be superior, so I’m going to pretend I didn’t watch it.

COVID vaccine for pre teens is like birth control for the over 65 crowd…

It just isn’t really very necessary…

Some of the other vaccines might make sense…

The covid emergency ends… and the push is on for covid vaccines…???

The tail is wagging the dog…

I don’t think covid vaccines for pre teens belongs at the top of the list, either…

🤷‍♂️

And a flu vaccine drive in March…???🤪😜

“We are the government, we are here to help”…

I’m pretty sure we are at the tail end of flu season…

Better late than never I guess…

Lots of people already had the flu this year…

I wonder how good of an idea it is, or how necessary, to get the flu vaccine after recovering recently from the flu…???

And making a habit of getting a flu shot on a yearly schedule in March sounds pretty lame…

I thought Octoberish was the preferred annual flu vaccine timing…

Did the HCDHHS happen to check the weather…???

Just making it to an appointment during this time frame will be pushing ones luck, safety wise…

I wonder if they factored that into their HCDHHS “equation”…

Seems pretty ill advised…

Except teens interact with others who can have severe complications. Sometimes it’s more about being a good member of the community than only thinking about one’s self.
The article is more about a clinic for vaccinations in general, though. They listed COVID and Flu shot to have a cpmplete list.

It’s not a good idea to use a child as a shield in self defense.

It doesn’t get any more selfish than that.

That’s completely backwards thinking.

Good members of the community should defend themselves, before they expect a child to do it for them…

https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/the-cdc-protects-big-pharma-not-your-children

“Not only is there little direct benefit to children, it is now abundantly clear that there is no broader social benefit from vaccination, either. All pretense of the “you should get vaccinated to protect others” claim has been abandoned. In my view, it is immoral to impose risks upon children in order to protect adults (it should be the other way around, with adults being willing to sacrifice almost anything to protect children), but that argument is now moot. ”

“The public discussion on transmissibility has moved on from early assurances that the vaccinated can’t catch or spread COVID — and arguments about whether the unvaccinated should be banned from public spaces and denied medical care. Now we’re arguing about whether it’s a scandal for Pzifer’s CEO to admit that the jabs weren’t even tested for transmissibility prior to distribution. In any case, everyone now knows that your vaccination status guarantees nothing with regard to transmission. Vaccinating children will not protect their teachers or grandparents.”

This is absolutely false. Anyone repeating it will be deleted. “Thailand’s Department of Disease Control also rejected the claims as “fake news.” Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s condition was attributed to an irregular heartbeat caused by a mycoplasma infection, and medical experts confirmed the infection is not known to be a side effect of COVID vaccines.” https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-covid-vaccine-pfizer-thailand-203948163859

This is self serving and disgusting. Take HPV for example. With this coaxing, are you giving true informed consent to children and their parents? Met a young man a few months back who was disabled from that shot.

As for flu shots, now there is an attempt to roll out those shots on the same disastrous mRNA platform.

Children have got robust immunity for other than some bacterial infections that can be handled with the older developed shots.

Even Pfizer had to admit that for children the COVID shots were less than 20 percent effective. You want to risk disabling or killing your child by these genetic therapy shots don’t say you were not warned.
In Idaho the legislature was so incensed over the hiding of trial data adverse effects and death that they are making it a criminal to administer these shots.

Any shot that is considered should be well researched and trialed and transparent to the public. When Pfizer and the FDA tried to hide the (still incomplete) trial data of 400,000 pages from the public that should have raised red flags with everyone. 9 pages single spaced with adverse reactions just in the /Warp Speed/Just take the Shot/ outcomes not admitted by the White House pushers. It’s like they were daft or did it deliberately.

The Big Pharma and compromised public health system also have a lot of explaining to do. Neither are deserving of any trust from us.

‘FDA advisors recommend first-ever RSV vaccine from Pfizer, despite possible Guillain-Barre risks’

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/28/rsv-vaccine-fda-committee-votes-on-pfizer-shot-for-older-adults.html

“A majority, [7of 12], of the FDA’s advisors said the safety and efficacy data supports using Pfizer’s RSV vaccine in adults ages 60 and older.”

“But several, [4 of 12],FDA advisors said there could be a significant safety issue after two vaccine recipients out of about 20,000 developed Guillain-Barre syndrome.”

“Other advisors were frustrated by a lack of efficacy data on people with weak immune systems and nursing home residents.”

Now they deify the Man and clamor for World War III. The Generation of destruction, that’s what the Boomers need to be known as.

The vaccines other than COVID 19 and flu listed are true vaccines. In other words, they provide proven levels of immunity to the diseases. The flu shot is somewhat effective, but natural immunity is showing to be more effective than the Wuhan Flu placebos.
Parents, weigh your options accordingly.

See where this is going. The cdc currently lumps in the flu and COVID with meningitis, chickenpox, and tetanus. The first two couldn’t be more different than the last three. The last three have effective vaccines which prevent them from occurring. The first two, not at all as the vaccines are not vaccines, they are experimental shots. So now, like good lil liberals, the democrats running California will soon make all kids be required to take the first two non vaccines for COVID and flu or they will not be able to attend public school. Control freak scum. You democrats are gonna be out a ton of money with all the kids no longer attending public school. You guys are gonna have to send out special investigators to round up the remaining school kids everytime they stay home sick because the monetary loss per head will be so great. Kids equal money equal union salaries. So diabolical when it’s for the children. Thanks for nothing democrats leaders and feckless Rinos, your world sucks, keep the hell away from me and my family

Other counties seem to be prioritizing the vaccines differently…

This one has COVID last on the list, where it belongs…!!!

https://www.countynewscenter.com/its-preteen-vaccine-week-protect-your-children/

“HPV (human papillomavirus)
Boys and girls can begin getting HPV vaccinations at 9-years-old to protect against cancers that can be caused by the virus. The CDC says children ages 11-12 should get two doses six to 12 months apart. Children who start the HPV series on or after 15-years-old need three doses given over six months. HPV vaccine for girls and young women prevents cervical cancer. The vaccine is also recommended for boys to prevent anal cancer and genital warts.”

“Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY and MenB) (Meningococcal disease)
The MenACWY vaccine is recommended for preteens ages 11-12 for protection against bacteria that cause meningococcal disease, a very serious illness which can lead to death in as little as 48 hours. A MenACWY booster is recommended at the age of 16. A MenB vaccine may be recommended for some teens ages 16-18. The bacteria that can cause meningococcal disease can infect the blood and inflame the tissues covering the brain and spinal cord. Of teens who become ill, 10% die and another 15% suffer long-term disability such as loss of limbs, deafness, nervous system problems or brain damage.”

“Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (grouped in one vaccine called Tdap)
All students entering seventh grade need proof of a Tdap booster to attend school. Epidemics of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, occurred in California in 2010 and 2014, and San Diego County saw increased cases in 2017.”

“Influenza
The flu vaccine is recommended every year for everyone 6 months old and older, including preteens and the whole family. Students who haven’t been immunized in the fall, when it is most helpful, can still benefit from the flu immunization now.”

“Chickenpox
Chickenpox, or varicella, is a viral infection that causes an itchy rash with small, fluid-filled blisters. While chickenpox is a mild disease for most people, it can be life-threatening for some. Two doses are recommended.”

“COVID-19
Two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are recommended for everyone 6 months and older to protect against the serious illness caused by COVD-19. Kids should also get the updated (bivalent) booster dose.”
