In the past (2011)… (from TS Times Webpage)

Police arrested a 35-year-old Eureka man and confiscated 42 grams of suspected black tar heroin in 14 individual baggies during a parole search on the 3200 block of Pine Street on Thursday.

When investigators with the Eureka Police Department knocked on Joshua Scott Vandyke’s door at 1:45 p.m., he refused to open the door and ran into the bathroom, according to police. Detectives forced the door open, entered the residence and detained Vandyke. The police department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit was acting on information that Vandyke was selling heroin
.
In addition to the suspected heroin, detectives also seized $480 in suspected drug sales proceeds, a digital gram scale and drug use paraphernalia. According to the police department, Vandyke may have been weighing out and packaging heroin when investigators arrived.

2 milligrams of fentanyl is considered to be a lethal dose (ymmv),
means there are 500 lethal doses in a kilogram or 500/2.2, about 227 lethal doses in a pound of fentanyl.

Whoops, 227 lethal doses in 1 gram, not kg. So that means 227,000 lethal doses in pound.

Uh….try that again with a calculator. There are 1000mg in a gram. And 1000 grams in a kilogram.

He was dealing drugs before. He may have been smart enough to not keep the cash, accounts receivable notebook (etc.) with the drugs… or he is working for the cartel, and they are ‘handling’ the cash.

What’s the customer base for the fentanyl. Does that supply exceed the demand?

The “customer base” is humanity. So far, humanity’s supply has never outstripped humanity’s demand. For a current, sober, and holding -nothing-back documenting of the subject, consider reading “The Least of Us: True Tales of America and Hope In the Time of Fentanyl and Meth” by Sam Quinones.
