Cal Poly Humboldt, Humboldt Dining Participate in “Delight-Ful” with New Student Choice Menu

Cal Poly Humboldt and its foodservice partner Humboldt Dining (part of Chartwells Higher Education) [recently] announced “Delight-Ful,” a nationwide event designed to celebrate, carry out, and encourage random acts of kindness across the country. This signature event from Chartwells’ award-winning Joy-Ful campaign will take place on February 15, 2023.

Based on student feedback, Delight-Ful is expanding to a week-long celebration across all 300 Chartwells campuses. In addition, Humboldt Dining’s main campus dining halls will feature a Student Choice Menu event on February 15, which will feature a new menu voted on by students prior to the event. Featured menu options include a variety of foods, including Birria Street Tacos, Desserts, Los Bagels, Obento, Kinetic Koffee, Hey Juan Burritos and more.

“At Humboldt Dining, we strive to provide our students with opportunities to meaningfully engage with community members, and Delight-Ful is a wonderful moment to express gratitude and show kindness to each other, “said James Richards, RDM, Humboldt Dining at Cal Poly Humboldt. “During Delight-Ful, students will have the ability to dine from a Student Choice Menu, voted on by our students, as a way to show appreciation to those who dine with us.”

Throughout the week, Humboldt Dining’s associates, students, and staff will also collectively carry out over 1,500 random acts of kindness, totaling at least 500,000 nationwide. With fun activities like photo booth, therapy dogs, games, KRFH DJ, flower giveaway and more, Delight-Ful will spread cheer and kindness for over a thousand students, faculty and staff at Cal Poly Humboldt.

“Given the success of last year’s event, we’re pleased to provide more opportunities that invite students and the campus community to celebrate kindness with a focus on food,” said Lisa McEuen, CEO of Chartwells Higher Education. “With the Student Choice Menu, we hope to empower our students by giving them a voice in their menus and to provide excitement in and outside of the dining halls.”
