[UPDATE 5 p.m.] Two Found Deceased in McKinleyville
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a home in the 1600 block of Kristin Lane Way in McKinleyville this afternoon.
According to a tweet from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, “Active law enforcement investigation happening on the 1600 block of Kristin Lane in McKinleyville. Two individuals have been located deceased following a welfare check on a residence. More information to follow.”
The major crimes division is investigating, according to North Coast News.
UPDATE 5 p.m.: Our reporter Mark McKenna is at the scene. He tells us that the Animal control just removed two cats and are going in for a dog that is in the home also.

“Someone didn’t give a shit” is no question. And your actual question is no better. Not trying to single you out with all of the ghouls making comments, maybe I’m just too sensitive for this news feed. So many tragic reasons could explain these deaths and it’s just that much worse with all casual comments people make. It just reads as heartless to me.

I can’t help but be concerned about family members that are unaware of the deaths. Imagine seeing your family’s home taped off and hearing the approximate location, at the least the street name. Hopefully this won’t be the case. RIP

Wow. I was surprised to see that this was in a rather nice neighborhood.
I don’t know McKinleyville well. Mostly the main avenue.
I’d heard that in the past years it’s become more dangerous, with drugs and such.
When I moved to the north coast, last century, it was more of a quiet, working class town, rather like Cutten.
I would have thought this story was from a shack in a ghetto, but I guess not.
The fact that it’s in the Crime portion of Redheaded makes me think foul play is suspected.
I had wondered if it was maybe something tragic and innocent, like a gas leak…

The sheriff has messed this up big time, it’s on this site before the family of the victim has been notified.
The investigating sheriff didn’t do shit, and in fact has made major errors already. When told of their mistakes they did nothing to fix it. They wait until their shift was ending before contacting victim’s family.
Not the first time this guy has pointed a gun at her.
Internet…. go figure. This happens every day all over the world.
