No skid marks, big impact, wonder if the SUV driver ever hit the brakes.

I wonder if the SUV driver was distracted by cell phone or changing radio stations? Doesn’t seem like an area with many distractions. But I rear-ended a car a few blocks east of there in 1977 when I glanced over at a girl in a swimsuit and my girlfriend at the time (in the passenger seat) expressed her righteous indignation…

I was at the store just down the block right after this happened, prior to arrival of emergency vehicles. Someone coming into the store said the rear ended vehicle (not in photo above) had stopped for a pedestrian, was rear-ended by vehicle in photo, and pushed into the pedestrian. I did not confirm, but did see ambulance loading a person.

Crosswalk with lights 1 block away at Harris and K.
I’ve seen it almost happen…(they’re short blocks.) And people drive too fast on Harris.

Looks like the vehicle did its job; crumple zone is crumpled. Hope everyone’s okay.
