Yesterday, Willits Police posted on their Facebook page,

While you slept, Officer Basurto was on patrol. As he checked the quiet neighborhoods of Willits he observed a male he recognized as Bryce Carlile near a vehicle. Officer Basurto knew Carlile to be on a form of Felony Probation which includes a search clause and specifically two other clauses: Obey all laws and do not posses marijuana. Upon a search of Carlile and his vehicle, approximately 10 pounds of packaged processed marijuana was located. Through his investigation Officer Basurto obtained probable cause to arrest Carlile for possession of marijuana for sales (H&S11360) and violation of his felony probation. Carlile was booked into the Mendocino County Jail and charges were forwarded to the Mendocino County DA’s Office for prosecution.

Searched him because he’s on felony probation with a search clause.
I learned that by reading the article. Try it some time.

The article states 10 pounds not 10 bags.

Yeah we always weigh up BAGS to 500g. Why simply use a pound as a unit of measure?

He was probably taking them to the dump since it is worthless. People have to pay just to get rid of it.

I tried and tried, but I literally could not smoke up and give away all the weed I grew last year. Now I have all this fresh dank to smoke and still have pounds left. Time to make a bunch of bubble I think.

I wonder if it was the new officer from down south they tend to get really buggy-eyed when they see “a lot of weed like that” where the local officers don’t really care about it anymore. Is so the newbie got excited and thought this was cool. One time I had four trash bags full of trim I was taking it over to somebody else’s house. I had to stop in town to help a family member. So…while I’m in town police officer walks by he says whose car is this it smells like marijuana I say it’s mine he stops and talks to me. Has me open up the car and looks at the bags and starts getting really excited. He calls his other fellow officers over that were nearby investigating a traffic accident. They all looked at it and said it’s not worth it the judge is just going to throw it out why bother. The guys like it’s marijuana. It’s weed, the other Officer says look you’re going to see tons of this stuff around here this is not that big of a deal and the judge is just going to throw it out. The new officer looks at the other officer and says well this is illegal. That older Officer says I’m not dealing with this and walks off says over his shoulder as he’s leaving you do what you want with it. The young newbie cop looks at me stands around for a little bit more and then shuts the back of my car. I laugh I say hey if I get pulled over again your handprints are there he looks at me with big old eyes and says get the heck out of here. So the newbie probably found it and it was exciting to him. But the newbie in Willits has been pulling people over for rolling right stops and other stuff. Not gaining community support. How long will he stay? Time will tell.

It’s so funny…people complain the cops never do anything…they get active about announcing felony arrests…people talk shit about em for it…then call the cops and get mad when they don’t get what they want…yet no one wants to be tough on crime and no one for damn sure wants to do the job…make your mind up what you people want…

Cannabis is legal in the state of California.

The only crime that was committed is the person failed to pay taxes.

Sorry but we all want to see a tuff policy on crime.

Just not cannabis crimes since they have been legalized.

Think about it. We had 900,000 cannabis arrest per year in the 90s

Prop 64 Legalized cannabis in 2016

Fine the guy for not paying taxes and release him immediately

You clearly do not know what the boundaries and limits of prop 64 are.
Nor do you recognize that this particular felon has a prohibition clause against possessing cannabis in the terms of his felony probation. Much like recurrent dui probation terms would require the perp to forgo alcohol.

Where is the law enforcement for all the hardcore drugs that destroy people’s lives. Where is the law enforcement to protect all the children and women that are battered they’re a little too busy trying to steal medicine that’s worth barely anything. Where is the law enforcement to stop thieves, oh they’re too busy trying to fill their quotas with tickets. Where’s all the law enforcement in Eureka and arcata when cars are being stolen every 5 minutes. Where’s all the law enforcement to pick up dirty needles off the ground and Humboldt County that’s what needs to get done. Where’s all the law enforcement to protect the battered and the innocent oh they’re too busy invading farmers who can’t make a penny unless they grow some asparagus this year.

Have you noticed all the arrests for drugs here in Humboldt. LEO’s can’t be everywhere that’s why it’s up to citizens to provide back them up, by reporting criminal activity…If you see needles, pick them up and throw them in the trash like I do but be careful. I didn’t know cars were stolen every 5 minutes…

I have NOT noticed any more of the fentanyl/meth busts at the County line. For a while it was every couple weeks. I figured DTF was just following cars driven by junkies. Did they just switch it up to 299? (And really, when was the last time hard drugs were busted coming in from the East-West route?) Are they flying it in from LA? Mailing it?
