Before the warm glow of that magical afternoon that Sara Bareilles gave a free concert in Eureka fades into the chill of forgetfulness, we couldn’t resist sharing this video of our local singer in the middle of introducing her biggest hit, stop, and chat with fans who were asking if she would allow them to print the lyrics in their upcoming book of coming out stories.

Her kindness is only topped by the richness of her voice as she followed up with singing the lyrics to Brave.

Yes it is about “knowing your truth and telling it unapologetically to the world”.. as Sarah says..
That does sound like the Imperial American ethos though, hmm..
I mean, she’s right, but isn’t that the norm now, not the ideal?
Musicians are so often behind the curve, the arc.
It’s ok to be normal though, not everybody is trying to see through it all.

Couch surfers are usually the ones ahead of the curve, but generally no one is listening.

Beautiful song!! Well done, Sara, thank you for putting this together and making it happen in your hometown. We are very proud of you and all that you have accomplished.

What a positive message and person, we need more of you in this world.

‘Blues by the Bay’ was great. Always a huge crowd. Somebody in office doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing!

Sarah’s concert was the first outdoor concert that I had been to in a few decades. Awesome Music, crowd, fun in the sun for a Perfect cap off to 2022 in HUMBOLDT.

So it is possible to have a large gathering of people without any trouble or violence. That’s just CRAZY!! 😜

That is notable, but it may be a nearly entirely a white audience, middle aged-ish or younger, with progressive sensibilities.
These are some of the most peaceful people one the planet, the white ones at least, because we already did our violence to create America and so on, and we use the police as our gang hit squad, so we don’t have to be violent, am I right?
Today, white liberals are beneficiaries of historical violent domination, and that’s why people of color refer to us a being privileged.
If it was a country show, a metal show, or a hip-hop show, there certainly would have been some violence.. but that’s because those folx are not liberals, are probably working class, and still feel they have the need to defend the ground they stand on, for whatever reason.
There’s not a huge difference between mingling with Christian’s or mingling with White liberals. Things like drugs, politics etc are going to differ, but I’ve rolled with both, and they seems humorously similar.
At least the Christian’s believe something better awaits when we die, but why would I care.
I’m moving to mars with Al Gore
