A little before 9 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Emergency Communications Center learned that a suspicious device was found at the Willow Creek Chevron station, according to residents of the area.

Basho Watson Parks, a local, told us his partner, Audrey Henschell, and their child saw that law enforcement had “taped off from [S]ubway to the corner of [C]ountry [C]lub to the video store.” He told us, that a “Suspicious device found and bomb squad from the coast is incoming.”

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team (AKA the Bomb Squad) are centered in Eureka–an hour away. Meanwhile, a large number of law enforcement is at the scene, according to several reports we’ve received.

I’m thinking someone has a beef with Chevron. The ‘fuel leaking from every pump’ article was also at a Chevron.

Might be something to that theory, I think both those stations are (or were) owned by Redwood Oil. They suck!

Some aggressive competition in the Humboldt fuel market would be wonderful!

I can pretty much confirm the two incidents AREN’T related. It’s incredibly unlikely at least.

I’m not at liberty to say more or I could get into hot water.

I just want to let people know because I’d hate for there to be more worry in this community because of FICTIONAL terrorism. There’s already enough bad in the world and we all know what unsubstantiated rumors can lead to.

Oh for Pete’s sake.
The bomb squad still belongs on tv.
Which wire to cut as it’s counting down to zero

True a pipe bomb can be vary dangerous and always extremely stupid but you still have to light it.

Not true, you can easily remote ignite it with simple electronics available on Amazon and something found at a hardware store. I won’t go into details though, but stupid simple.
