State Public Health Leaders Update COVID-19 Guidance for Use of Face Masks

Press release from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH):

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH)…released updated guidance for the use of face masks, using the federal community COVID-19 levels to inform statewide masking recommendations. The community levels set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) help individuals and communities decide which prevention actions to take for COVID-19 based on data that classifies communities as low, medium, or high risk.

The state’s updated guidance also allows certain congregate settings, including correctional facilities, homeless and emergency shelters, and cooling centers to make masks optional when community COVID-19 levels are low.

These masking changes take effect this Friday, September 23 and do not affect health care and long-term care settings.

“This shift in masking is consistent with California’s SMARTER Plan and gives Californians the information they should consider when deciding when to wear a mask, including the rate of spread in the community and personal risk,” said CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer Dr. Tomás Aragón.

Here are the new CDPH masking recommendations based on community COVID-19 levels:

  • When community levels are low, CDPH advises those at lower risk for severe illness to wear a mask based on their personal preference and individual level of risk and those at higher risk for severe illness to consider wearing a mask in crowded indoor public places.
  • When community levels are medium, CDPH advises those at lower risk for severe illness to consider wearing a mask in crowded indoor public places. Wearing a mask is recommended in crowded indoor public places for those at higher risk for severe illness.
  • When community levels are high, CDPH recommends all those at lower risk of severe illness wear a mask in crowded indoor public places and strongly recommends those at higher risk for severe illness to wear a mask in indoor public places.

Californians at higher risk for severe illness, including people who are unvaccinated, immunocompromised, have certain disabilities or underlying health conditions, should take extra COVID-19 precautions.

When wearing a mask, Californians are urged to choose one with the best fit and filtration.

Is this a joke? Or I should say you need to wear 15 masks to triple your protection of propaganda and tunnel a 15′ hole in the bottom of your house and go in there and never leave.

They are trying to find a way to stay relevant.

Wouldn’t this be a state health issue? How many useless unelected public officials fill the ranks of the employed, because they feel the need to be another redundant cog in a the worst health epidemic in history.

So if our generation has the best scientists, medical technology, and medical knowledge in human history… Why are we still some of the most obese, cancer ridden people in human history?

Let’s make these public departments of health on a sliding pay scale.

If your city, county, state have serious health problems, you shouldn’t be guaranteed a salary and pension if your work doesn’t produce results.

If you want to get paid, turn this shitshow around, and start putting the publics health front and center.

Let’s transfer the billions getting sent overseas in foreign aid, and let’s feed our school children the healthiest and most nutritionally dense organic food.

I hear that holding your breath is 100 percent effective in preventing a person from dying from COVID-19. Crack me up, we can stop the flu! Atleast Biden thinks we can, how long is that 60 minutes program?

When Newsom had his soirée at the French Laundry in the middle of the pandemic with all sorts of medical professionals and other politicians unmasked, the bourgeoisie, right then and there let us all know that masks are only a sign that an individual is compliant… not protected.

Yes, the PANDEMIC is over, but covid is here to stay. It’s become ENDEMIC, just like the annual flu is endemic. However, unlike the flu, those who have compromised immunity or an underlying health condition such as heart or lung disease have a much higher risk of death from the coronavirus. And it is for those of us who have such issues that this advisory is meant for.

Huh???

How do you figure, that…

…those who have compromised immunity or an underlying health condition such as heart or lung disease “don’t” have a much higher risk of death from the “flu”???

Because, I don’t be think that is true…

(They surely do)

Biden said the pandemic is over. All mandates in relation to COVID as well as all emergency powers granted to governors and the president are NULL and VOID. Or at least they should be.

There are currently NO mandates in relation to covid. There are advisories aplenty, but no mandates.

Do any of you people READ?

Ahh, wrong again. Today, after you wrote your comment, the feds dropped vax and mask mandates for the federal head start program. Some branches of the military also mandate to this day, right now, including military colleges like West Point. . So, yea, they are still in effect. Reading all the news allows citizens to make an informed decision rather than banning news because it does not conform to the liberal worldview. Natural selection is real.

There’s still a mandate for wearing a mask in a medical office. I thought you were aware of that one, no?

Yep. Biden said the pandemic is over.

Talk about “SMARTER”.

It must be over, almost nobody is getting Biden’s new untested booster jab.

Or is that why he said the pandemic was over, before everyone finds out he just blew $$$ tens of billions on boosters that nobody wants???

Boy, do people have “nerve”, or what???

Or are they just “SMARTER”?

Fauci said the pandemic was over like 5 months ago, but had to walk it back…

Now Fauci is butt hurt, because Biden got to say what Fauci wanted to be the one to take credit for.

Biden ended the pandemic, not Fauci.

Poor, disgraced, Fauci.

That’s what happens when you are a quitter!

That will be stuck in Fauci’s craw forever.

Fauci is even trying to rearrange Biden’s meaning, and somehow thinks that he can walk back Biden’s statement, as if Biden misspoke, and as of Fauci had that authority, or even the ability, to read Biden’s mind…

Considering that Fauci already said the pandemic was over months ago, Fauci is making them both look like idiots, now that he is trying to walk back Biden saying it now, too.

This vaccine and mask ego is definitely going to take some time to deflate.

To all of you mask and vaccine enthusiasts out there: just relax, take a really deep breath, and let it go.
You’re going to be ok

There could be no higher level of personal liberty in terms of face masks than choosing whether or not to wear one for oneself. Yet you presume to tell others what they should or should not do according to what you want. While of course complaining about others trying to tell you what to do by -gasp- making a recommendation. Oh, the tyranny of recommending… So much for your version of liberty.

Oh, BTW no one is going to be “okay”. Life always ends with being singularly not okay. Unless of course you prefer sickness. Then your way is perfectly okay.

the “manipulation” is purely your perception. and it seems that perception is potentially based on disinformation. it’s as if you don’t now anyone that has been severely harmed by covid . your trolling handle makes me think you are easily manipulated by media programming. maybe Biden like sniffing hair due to all the shampoo commercials during his impressionable years.

Says the woman who endlessly demanded that people wear masks. Like your litany of wrongheaded comments, the “guidance” is largely ignored. Let me guess, you didn’t get a booster?

We did. A long time ago. We don’t care if you want to risk your life, just don’t include us in your irresponsibility. And don’t look askance at those of us who choose to continue with masking. We won’t mess with you as long as you don’t mess with us.

Deal?

The militaristic maskers already did mess with us for three years so that ship has sailed long ago and will never be forgiven, ever. We found out who the totalitarians are and that is not changing. Masks do not work against wuhan, fact. But wear your mask and don’t be surprised if everyone avoids you and doesn’t acknowledge your presence. See how that works, the finger pointers became the new pariahs. The out people. Natural selection at work. Darwin was at least correct with one theory. MAGA.

The tyranny of it all! Being asked to wear a mask to protect oneself and other, possibly more vulnerable people than yourself! How many got creases on their faces from those Nazi masks? How many were coldly and cruelly asked to cover their mouth when they sneeze? These transgressions can never, ever be forgiven! Taylor Swift, you know my pain!

Masks work so well against airborne disease….like when someone farts….if they’re wearing underwear….you can’t smell it

The worst thing Public Health did was try to convince people that surgical face masks keep people from contracting covid. They don’t. Face masks work to keep a sick person from spreading their cooties; they don’t keep healthy people from getting said cooties. The only masks that do that are N95s, not flimsy surgical masks. So if you see someone wearing a N95 out in public, keep your distance. They may well have a reason for being extra cautious, such as a weak immune system.

Enough is enough. I am starting an online petition for “Ethical reporting” from our local reporters. This would mean disclosing you were paid to put out this non-news as news, and also investigating the claims in it for correctness and bias before posting. I do not think anyone in the county is pleased with the Redheadblackbelt-lostcoast-northcoast-government complex. We want actual investigative reporting, we want press releases put out as press releases not news articles, we want full disclosure.

And you have every right to do so. I am unmasked but when I see a masked person I give them extra space because I just assume they have a reason to be concerned. I don’t think our public health agencies did a good job at all in that covid pandemic and I can get worked up about the general dysfunction but it doesn’t stop me from respecting my neighbors’ concerns for their own safety. I wish you the best. I’ve got a couple friends who got long covid and it sucks. Glad I was able to stop and rest for 3 weeks and push my covid out completely…

What does this kind of language mean?

“The state’s updated guidance also allows…”

“Guidance” doesn’t “allow” things. Guidance might recommend things. It might suggest things. But it doesn’t allow them.

How is it possible that the state can’t find competent communicators for the job of communicating purportedly essential information to the public?

Hey … don’t wear a mask if you choose. Don’t wear seat belts, condoms, cycle helmets, underwear or whatever. However let those that do have their own choice(s) on the matter(s).

Have you ever wondered why all the homeless aren’t dying from covid.
I don’t see them wearing masks, and I doubt there are getting vaxxed.
Those tents cities look pretty close together.
Yet it’s fentanyl deaths the morgues are complaining about.

Homeless…you are outside. Less chance to get Covid than in crowded indoor spaces. Although, if a homeless person does die from it, it probably won’t be reported as such, and certainly not on the front page.

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

For biotechnology and biomanufacturing to help us achieve our societal goals, the United States needs to invest in foundational scientific capabilities. We need to develop genetic engineering technologies and techniques to be able to write circuitry for cells and predictably program biology in the same way in which we write software and program computers; unlock the power of biological data, including through computing tools and artificial intelligence; and advance the science of scale‑up production while reducing the obstacles for commercialization so that innovative technologies and products can reach markets faster.
