[UPDATE 6:28 p.m.] Evacuations Underway After Structure Fire Spreads in Clearlake

A full wildland fire force including ground and air assets has been deployed to Clearlake in Lake County after a structure fire near Crawford Avenue and Tana Avenue has spread into nearby vegetation around 4 p.m.

The specifics of the evacuation orders/warnings can be seen at this website.

There are reports that three to four structures have been burned and law enforcement is working to clear nearby residences.

Spot fires across Highway 53 have been mitigated and the fire was described as growing at a slow rate of spread.

UPDATE 4:38 p.m.: The Clearlake Police Department issued the following Nixle Alert: “Immediate evacuation for all residences in the area of Crawford Ave and Tana Ave. Structure fire – Please avoid the area of Crawford Av near Tana Ave.”

The latest evacuation orders/warnings can be seen at this website.

There are multiple reports of firefighters working to defend structures and law enforcement working quickly to assist in evacuating residents. There are some reports of residents not complying with the mandatory evacuations.

Hwy 53 is closed to traffic coming into the fire area.

Caltrans Reports, “State Route 53 in Lake County is fully closed from 18th Ave. to 40th Ave. in Clearlake (PM1.9-2.9) due to a wildland fire. There is currently no estimated time of reopening. Please check quickmap.dot.ca.gov or the Quickmap app for the latest road conditions.”

UPDATE 6:28 p.m.: “Fire Contained,” says fire personnel over the scanner.

There was also a fire start on Soda Bay rd in Kelseyville at 3:03 PM today. They must have put it out right away. Said cause “undetermined”.

missed me , knock on wood
took about 10 -15 minutes standing outside cause power and AC was out before first chopper got on scene . i was watching and was receiving all the allerts on cell phone .
hope no one lost any houses or stuff but i bet some got burned . that smoke was black black at times and i seen enough fires to know it was a building . prayers to all affected
