Narcan Kits EPD Officers are now carrying

Three times in the month of August Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies have deployed Narcan and saved lives. On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Deputy Anoop Ghusar with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office responded to an un-responsive subject at a public bus stop in Weaverville. Upon arrival, the Deputy observed the subject was on the ground and appeared to be overdosing on an unknown substance. The Deputy deployed Narcan, which brought the subject back to consciousness. The subject later refused further medical assistance.

On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported Fentanyl related overdose in Weaverville and found an unconscious subject. The Deputies, Deputy Anoop Ghusar and Sergeant Scott Cavalli, deployed two doses of Narcan, which brought the subject back to consciousness. The subject later refused further medical assistance.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that the use of controlled substances is dangerous and illegal. We are glad that our Deputies were able to respond and deploy the Narcan in order to save these lives, however, these incidents have documented an unfortunate rise in narcotics related overdoses in Trinity County.

Incredible that it can bring someone back to the point of not needing additional medical assistance.

Science can now bring dead pig organs back to life, and they are cloning the extinct Tasmanian tiger. 3D printed food will soon become the norm. Pretty soon we will see micheal Jackson back from the dead. It’s getting scary

We’ll see what kind of luck they have with that tiger that’s not a done deal yet. Pretty exciting though.

The Tasmanian Tiger is not being ‘cloned’ back into existence. The technology being used manipulates the DNA of existent close genetic relatives and attempts to re-evolve them back into the target species. They are also working on Woolly Mammoths.

Seems like overdose is getting pretty common. We need kamala to get to the “root of the problem”. Before the passage of time. It Seems like china is attacking us from every angle. As Beijing biden ships our reserve oil to them. I wonder how much the china virus cost america? Had a pull rope cover on my chainsaw that lasted years. After it finally wore out i replaced it with what was available due to supply chain crisis. A chinese knock off. It lasted a few weeks. China is our enemy. And our imposter in the white house has been purchased by them. Stock up on narcan. We still have 2 years of insanity left

So much for developing opinions based on facts rather than paranoid fantasy.

Its s fact overdoses are increasing. Its a fact the chinese knock off lasted a very short time. And unfortunatly its a fact this administration will continue sabotaging our country. And selling out to china for another two years Maybe not the same crooks. Pilosi and biden are both deteriorating rapidly kamala is already gone. But theres hoards of wokesters waiting in the wings. Not a reasonable thought in the crowd

Remember:

Narcan wears off fast, and is consumed in vivo by the drugs present.

When a “non-responsive” person refuses medical treatment, the next thing he probably does is go find another hit.

I want to know what criteria are established for LEO’s to administer drugs to drug-addicts… Did he have a pulse? Did the officer consult a physician prior to administering the Naloxone? Did the officer monitor the “victim” past 30 minutes?

All non-responsive persons should be brought to the ER immediately following having their “lives saved”, whether they want to or not…

Deliver all the persons refusing medical care to a locked inpatient rehab program, and force them to participate in AA/NA meetings, to repudiate drugs and to “save” their own lives…

Cops are not qualified medical personnel, and whatever their motivations, the dispensing of Naloxone should be left to professionals.

First two snorts of Naloxone are free! After that, you will be billed!

Remember drug addicts, after narcan use the brain is not aa likely to get high as easily. So by the time your brain reaches a high , your heart has stopped. Just one down side to narcan, drugs are good and thank you for the inflation reduction act for making pain killers more affordable. Now the high cost to live is manageable, crack me up.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that the use of controlled substances is dangerous and illegal.

It’s illegal?
But we don’t care if you OD, Narcan is free.

No questions asked.
See you on the flip side Dude

Hi, I would just like to say that everyone should look up Narcan. The website gives good instructions on how to administer it. It is a very sad commentary on our society that so many people have become addicted . This addiction crosses all social classes. This addiction is not picky. The pharmaceutical companies hold much of the blame. My dear sweet brother became addicted to pain pills when he injured his back on a construction job. Not having insurance to have the proper surgeries, his doctors just prescribed him pain pills. Several years down the line, he was addicted and in pain. He drank and took pills to ease his pain. How I wish I would have had Narcan the night it became too much. But I did not. He left three kids and me and our mom behind. Tragically. Narcan could save one of your loved ones lives. Check it out. Educate yourselves about it before you dismiss it.

LEO’s practicing medicine in the street at their own discretion is not a solution to “the drug problem”.

If anything, a better solution would be to have all drugs be legal, and freely available, including Naloxone, which used to only be dispensed in the emergency room…

Pure drugs supplied directly to addicts may be the only solution to the Fentanyl Epidemic. Currently, even a Senior Citizen is hard pressed to get a prescription for the “pain pills” that you say killed your brother…

Addicts need inpatient rehab/detox and intensive counseling plus NA/AA meetings. It works if you are ready to give up your drug of choice.

Addicts are all the same, they all have a “reason” for their addictions, and, IMO, one person, more or less, who is addicted to drugs, isn’t going to be that important on this planet, at this time.

Are drugs good, or are they bad?

Neither. Drugs are necessary.

Use with caution, and if you want to kill yourself, please do it in private.

wow you are heartless and clueless . Ya ,my brother had prescriptions from doctors for pain pills. The drug companies pushed their addictive drugs into our society. Young people were prescribed highly addictive pain medicine from doctors and dentists even at very young ages. Unknowingly, they became addicted. So That is the “reason” for a huge percentage of addiction in our country. I am glad the sheriffs have Narcan. I know of three young people who were saved by sheriffs carrying Narcan to an overdose emergency. Their families are very grateful. And the majority of these people do not want to kill themselves. No addict is happy to be an addict.
