The Rio Dell mural is almost complete. The project was funded in part by the city while the remaining funds were donated by residents that wanted a likeness of themselves or a loved one included in the mural.

The Rio Dell-Scotia Chamber of commerce will be hosting a dedication ceremony for the nearly completed mural on Saturday, August 20th at noon. Mayor Garnes, City Manager Kyle Knoop and muralist Julia Morgan Fordyce are slated to speak at the event.

Hyacinths to Feed Thy Soul –

by Sadi

IF OF THY MORTAL GOODS thou art bereft,
And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul. https://www.poetrynook.com/poem/hyacinths-feed-thy-soul

Not everyone agrees but…those who do are usually lovely people.

Is the highly regarded, and long time Rio Dell resident (former Salmon Creek neighbor, and beloved heavy equipment operator/artist) Kenny Swinnock on that mural? I sure hope so!

Pretty sure, his family would have had to supply a picture.

I think somebody should put a trump 2024 sign in some of their hands. Good patriotic vibes😎
