Charlie Lamb: Deputy Sheriff, Great Husband, Involved Father
This section includes announcements of important events in our lives–births, graduations, engagements, marriages, and deaths. If you want to share an event with your community, please send a photo and a written piece to [email protected].
Charlie Lamb has fought harder than any warrior to beat Lymphoma for the second time. Unfortunately, the medical professionals have done all they can and Charlie was released home passing away on August 10th surrounded by loved ones in his home in Nampa, Idaho.
Charlie was the epitome of integrity, loyalty, and honesty. He was the first person to help someone in need and has had a positive impact on every life he has touched. He was a very extroverted man with a great sense of humor and a heart full of compassion for others.
He has always been extremely active in his six children’s lives, Trueman, Hailey, Isaac, Christian, Sadi and Matthew. He was also extremely involved in basketball since he was in high school. Charlie was a star basketball player, police hero for over 20 years, family oriented man, came from humble beginnings, was a great husband to his wife Tiffany and friend to all.
His smile was infectious, it would make anyone smile if they were having a bad day. Charlie was always positive and saw both sides of every story. He gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and did not look at the bad in people, but looked at the good.
Charlie grew a desire to seek employment where he could be impactful in people’s lives. Throughout his life, he had always had the desire to help others; therefore in 2000 he accepted a position, as a Correctional Officer, with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
As a Correctional Officer, Charlie excelled. He was quickly recognized for his ability to lead and his compassion for others. In 2005, Charlie was promoted to Deputy Sheriff. While serving his community, he had a positive impact on people, personally and professionally. Charlie recently retired from the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office just one short year ago.
Charlie was born July 27th 1969 in Shasta County to Deldean Lamb and was raised with his brother Basil and sister Joyce. He attended West Valley High School, Humboldt State University and Shasta College. He was incredibly modest and humble, but impacted many lives and left a great legacy.
Charlie’s celebration of life and memorial service is 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th at the Fortuna River Lodge.

Rest in peace Charlie. You mattered and you will be missed.
He helped me numerous times rescuing seals, going above and beyond the call of duty. His heart was as big as he was!

Had the honor of being around Charlie while he was a Sheriff Officer. Great man. R.I.P. Charlie….
One of the good ones. I always enjoyed seeing the “Twin Towers” when they were at court. May he and his family have peace.
I remember Charlie letting me play basketball with him and his friends at the Adorni. I was only about 12 and had no business playing with them. Good dude!!
Charlie Lamb was a true gentleman, a servant to his community, and I will deeply miss him in this world and grieve his passing. My condolences to his family and to his colleagues at the Sheriffs Department. I will always cherish our times together.
