Today, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department booked one of the suspects in yesterday’s looting of a property under evacuation orders in Trinity County because of the Six Rivers Lightning Complex. They booked Winkle White, age 38, into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility at 5:21 p.m.

This morning, Sheriff Tim Saxon from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department confirmed his deputies are investigating a burglary that occurred yesterday and the above photo appears accurate.

According to Samantha Karges, a spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, yesterday, “about 6:20 pm, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to assist the California Highway Patrol with the report of a burglary within Trinity County’s evacuation order zone.” She said that the California Highway Patrol let her agency know that “two adult males were seen swimming across the Trinity River into Humboldt County to evade law enforcement.”

Humboldt County and Trinity County Sheriff deputies as well as CHP officers chased the two suspects around Willow Creek. But, the two men managed to evade capture on Friday.

One suspect is still outstanding though we believe law enforcement is aware of his identity.

Karges told us, “The [Humboldt County] Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the numerous members of the community who assisted in this incident. If you see a suspicious person or activity in your community, contact law enforcement right away.”

Honestly, I came to say basically the same thing. The name made him turn out wrong.

I just realized he was born in 1984, that’s a much worse era to be named winkle than if he’d been born more recently, like the 90’s. Wow that must have been rough.

Rhymes with stink hole, lol. Seems his parents named him well. They were apparently visionaries.

Don’t looters get an enhanced sentence for their chicken shit ways

Kicking folks at their most vulnerable time should be extra time in the pen.

Ugh Whites are from salmon river- some good but mostly bad clan. I hate thieves. Sorry that this crime happened to a good guy in our neighborhood. Happy for cameras.

These particular White’s are from Hoopa. A big family of them. All Hoopa Tribal members.

It would be good to hear how this guy was located by police. Maybe not luck but community participation. However remaining behind to preserve household goods at the risk of dying or getting burned in a wildfire- not so great.

From all the news there were shots fired at him too. Some of his friends and family went on to the local Willow Creek bulletin board forum and complained about an unarmed man being shot at. Haven’t you guys ever heard of looters being shot by national guard during disasters. These two guys are getting Federal offenses they’re going away to the pen for a long time. If the other guy gets caught anywhere near Willow Creek without the law enforcement saving his life the locals will get him. And they’re not going to have a tea party with him

I bet he is jr. ,that’s my guess ,there is another Winkle much older I think. Some Hoopa tribe families pass down same name for generations.

By the looks of it they looted pounds of cannabis, it’s not heavy what they are carrying. What a massive haul 30-40 pounds!!! What’s the worth $800 maximum?

Probably knew exactly where they were going and I’ll bet the owner of the house isn’t surprised when the name winkle is brought up. These asshats were not throwing darts when they chose their destination. Probably “friends” w the homeowners.

Lucky he wasn’t laid to rest out there. In these condition it’s likely his body would burn and no one would know the better. In a wink winkle could be gone. One less sh/tbag walking the planet. Or two less sh-tbags. 👍
