Wait. You have money for Cannabis growers to pay build for water storage, and for Renewable Energy, while other businesses and residents need to pay for this 100% out of pocket. Smart money being spent!

How much money has your business gave to the DCC? You want some water storage go get a loan or a bank account for your business that doesn’t cost 500 a month just to have open and enjoy your tax right offs while your at it. Your non-cannabis business gets more perks then you know by a long shot.

If you want to start a farm the USDA also offers funding for regenerative soil, water, and solar I believe. Just look up AG grants. Since traditional agricultural is actually one of the worst offenders in climate change it’s wise to try and steer farmers towards regeneration. #supportlocalfarmers…even if it is cannabis 🌱

You do not qualify if you are growing cannabis. Remember the Hmong in Trinity county that said they were growing strawberries and actually used the money for a cannabis farm. It didn’t go well.

I wasn’t recommending that….you are kidding?!!! someone actually tried that….. Anyway, I was merely stating that if the person complaining (grumpy dude) wanted to receive grant funding they too can start a business and become eligible. If your growing both and registered as a food producer I wonder if you kept businesses separate can you still apply for USDA funding?

I would like this money, too, but I’m not part of a dying industry. Damn.

Really trying to prop this one up still huh? How about you give that money to somebody who will use it for something useful. We’re in a recession, there’s an impending food crisis around the corner, and you give our tax money to weed growers who haven’t paid taxes in the last 20 years? Tell them to dig up more of that buried cash! Oh wait, the BOS already piped the growers for all that money.

We overcharged them and crushed our only remaining industry, quick give them tax money from all the hardworking people they’ve shit on for the last two decades!

I sympathize with your concerns but the money in question was collected from cultivators. The other hundreds of millions goes to schools, police, and eradication of illegal cultivation.

Problem is: to still be going, I had to buy tanks a few years ago. Who qualifies for this and still needs the money? Can we get reimbursed for actually meeting our conditions already!? Why did they permit farms who think they need massive electricity, yet don’t have power? They get a handout, while my reasonably located, less energy intensive farm gets nothing?

Biden just hired 87,000 new IRS agents to look into tax evaders. Hope y’all have your receipts for the last 20 years. The IRS is federal, those guys have satellite pictures going all the way back to the 90’s. Have fun and best of luck!

This is $12 million in grant money that the State Dept of Cannabis has set aside for Humboldt County famers to create solar power and water storage. It is a great announcement! Haven’t the complaints been about generator noise and water usage? This is your community, and they are being supported by the state and county ! Yay!!

Dam, that is a lot of money. How about spending that on running the HBMWD water pipe past Dow’s Prairie to all the folks up,north? It will solve some of the underused mad river water problem and ensure water availability for neighborhoods and local communities located along the southern tip of the PNW. Surf more in cold water.

Just think of all that Mad River water going to water all that indoor weed. Crazy how the Mad is the only underutilized watercourse up here.

Soo…I’m just asking for a friend. Can we use the grant to pay for replacing a culvert? I’ve heard it will cost $305,000.
