Colorful Murals Add Vibrant Addition to Waterfront Scenery
The Caltrans District 1 Facebook page showed off pictures of the new murals underneath the Samoa Bridge along Eureka’s Waterfront. The mural project is part of the Clean California Beautification Project, in collaboration with the Eureka Street Art Festival.
Four mural artists completed the unique artwork on the pillars during the course of the street art festival.

Went for a walk on the Waterfront Trail and attended the Block Party on Saturday. The weather was perfect and there was a good crowd. The murals are vibrant. Great work!
I hope to see all the pillars painted in the future. The ones in the middle would provide an interesting canvas with an additional opportunity for reflection over the water.

It would be great if we had surveillance cameras on these beautiful murals. When a punk defaced these artworks, it’s a year in jail. Mandatory sentence.

Finished art is now coated with ‘anti-graffiti’ sealer. Spray paint wipes right off.
