I love to ride motorcycles, but when a fellow rider goes down and does not get up for whatever reason it makes me very sad and more careful. I am so very sorry for that lady and don’t know why she crossed the double yellow lines. My most sincere condolences to her family, friends and fellow riders. May she RIP and ride on in Heaven. God bless.

Agreed. I rode for 50 years. Had a son riding home from work who got hit by a car that mad a turn in front of him. He is alive, but had a major leg injury.
Condolences to the family of the woman who died. As well as the truck driver.

In previous news stories I heard about target fixation?
I had never heard of this condition that affects motorcyclist. I don’t ride but it would be nice if a person could be prepared or at least aware of this condition.
Does the DMV worn future riders about this?

Not sure. I will read the DMV Motorcycle Training Guide to see what it says.

I looked up target fixation and it does apply to motorcycles as well as vehicles. It happens when a rider “fixes” his sight on an object and drives directly into it. Look up Target Fixation while riding a motorcycle, and you will get a little more information. Hope this helps.
