CDPH Updates COVID Guidelines and Trinity County Public Health Urges Residents to Follow in Face of Upswing in Cases

public attentionPress release from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH):

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recently updated isolation and quarantine timelines and restrictions as well as its definition of close contact to acknowledge that COVID-19 is an airborne disease. The CDPH changes to quarantine timelines are based on the knowledge that the SARS-CoV-2 virus has recently evolved to have a shorter incubation period (average 2-3 days).

Close Contact is defined as someone sharing the same indoor airspace (e.g., home, clinic waiting room, airplane etc.) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes) during an infected person’s infectious period.

Infectious Period is defined as:

  • For symptomatic infected persons, 2 days before the infected person had any symptoms through Day 10 after symptoms first appeared (or through Days 5-10 if testing negative on Day 5 or later), and 24 hours have passed with no fever, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and symptoms have improved,

    OR

  • For asymptomatic infected persons, 2 days before the positive specimen collection date through Day 10 after positive specimen collection date (or through Days 5-10 if testing negative on Day 5 or later) after specimen collection date for their first positive COVID-19 test.

With the recent increases in SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) cases in Trinity County, it is important that proactive protective measures be utilized to ensure our populations are able to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. These protective measures include:

Vaccinate:

  • COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective
  • Get vaccinated against COVID-19 and get a booster if you are eligible.
  • COVID-19 effects children as well, get your child vaccinated if they are eligible

  • COVID-19 vaccines for infants and toddlers will be available soon.

Test:

    • Prior to large indoor events or parties
    • Prior to small indoor events with persons outside of your household
    • Prior to travelling on public transportation
    • If you have symptoms
    • If you test positive, stay home, follow CDPH guidance.

Mask:

    • Strongly recommended for all persons, regardless of vaccine status, in indoor public settings and businesses; on public transit; and in transportation hubs surgical masks or higher-level respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, KF94s) with good fit are highly recommended.

Gatherings:

    • When indoors, open windows to improve ventilation
    • Outdoors is better than indoors whenever possible.

For those who become infected, there are now treatments that some providers and pharmacies can provide to reduce progression to severe illness. If you have symptoms get tested as soon as possible and reach out to your medical provider to determine if treatment is appropriate.

A quick look on Amazon shows an ample supply of mustard. All varieties.
Last time I was at the store shelves full of mustard..
It’s this kind of fear mongering prophecy that causes panic buying and should cease immediately.

Nope, all they state is a possibility. At the present time there is no mustard shortage. Check your local store. People who claim a mustard shortage are trying to cause panic buying and undermine the US economy and should be dealt with as such.
Fines and or community service should be used.
And as any herb loving person knows..
If you are so inclined, you can make mustard out of the seeds, just grind them up and mix with vinegar, salt optional.
Wild mustard grows in abundance in Humboldt County..

C’mon, man!…

Sshhhh!

You’re messing with my “system”…

“Heinz” is up 5.88% in the last 30 days…

Kraft Heinz Co https://g.co/kgs/R3nos7

Cha-ching!

Do you got something against makin’ money?

Everyone is eating hotdogs now, thanks to Biden. Of course mustard is scarce!

A man has to think ahead!

You better grab some mustard while the gettin’ is good, or you’ll be eating your hotdogs without it…

Inducing fear into US consumers is no joke..As is recommending people eat hotdogs. Are you also saying people should eat unhealthy food?

Hot dogs, like many processed meats, are linked to increased risks for health issues like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and higher mortality.

Studies found panic buyers are most likely to be motivated by fear, or be motivated by social pressure, as well as the perceived severity of the situation.

Speaking of common sense being in short supply…

Do the Boosters even work on BA.5?

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2206725

“In 30 persons who were infected with the omicron variant and who were hospitalized but not admitted to the ICU, neutralizing-antibody titers against BA.4/5 and BA.2.12.1 were 37.8% and 10.2% lower, respectively, than those against BA.2 (P>0.05 for both comparisons).”

“Booster vaccination provided sufficient neutralizing-antibody titers against the BA.4/5 and BA.2.12.1 subvariants, albeit to a lower extent than against BA.1 and BA.2.4”

Really?

“37.8% lower”, but still, somehow, that is considered, “sufficient”?

That doesn’t really sound right…

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-022-30895-3

BNT162b2 effectiveness against symptomatic BA.2 infection was highest at 51.7% (95% CI: 43.2–58.9%) in the first 3 months after the second dose, but then declined to ~10% or below thereafter (Fig. 3a and Table 3). Effectiveness rapidly rebounded to 43.7% (95% CI: 36.5–50.0%) in the first month after the booster dose and was 40.2% (95% CI: 34.2–45.7%) in the second month and thereafter. A similar pattern was observed for mRNA-1273 effectiveness (Fig. 3b and Table 4).

June 22, 2022 – Moderna released study results today showing its new Omicron-specific booster increased antibodies against the coronavirus by a factor of 5, even against some of the newer and more worrisome variants. The company also today said it will soon ask the FDA to authorize the use of the vaccine.

Pfizer is also working on a new type of booster..
Pfizer says its tweaked COVID-19 shots boost protection against the omicron variantJune 25, 2022
But you knew this already,as it has been posted previously..

Why even discuss Omicron specific boosters that aren’t even authorized, aren’t approved, and aren’t available?

They are non- existent for all practical purposes.

That’s dangerously misleading, disinformation at best…

Please don’t associate the current booster, and it’s questionable efficacy against BA.5, that I am talking about, (the boosters that are currently in use), with any unauthorized and unapproved boosters that you are talking about!

You are just potentially confusing people about the performance of of the currently available vaccines and boosters against BA.5, the variant that is moving into dominance, if it’s not their already.

Way to mislead and misinform people…

Masterfully done…

Take a bow.

I would definitely trust these given how well the last ones worked-lol.
What were you saying earlier?

If vaccines hadn’t of worked well, the entire world’s inflation rate would be way down.

COVID vaccines reduced the potential global death toll during the pandemic by almost two-thirds in their first year, saving an estimated 19.8 million lives, according to a mathematical modeling study yesterday in The Lancet Infectious Diseases.

An additional 600,000 lives could have been spared if a World Health Organization (WHO) goal of vaccinating 40% of the population of every country by the end of 2021 had been met, the authors of the study say.

“In conclusion, mRNA vaccines provide only moderate protection against symptomatic BA.1 and BA.2 Omicron infections, with no discernable differences in protection against either BA.1 or BA.2. Protection also wanes rapidly to negligible levels, starting 4 months after the second dose. Vaccine protection rebounds after booster vaccination, but also wanes thereafter. Meanwhile, vaccine protection against COVID-19 hospitalization and death is strong and durable after the second dose, and is most robust after a booster dose.”

Now figure 37.8% of whatever protection against BA.2, they are talking about here, and ask yourself if that is “sufficient” protection for BA.5.

It’s certainly questionable.

Use common sense.

Well as you have previously posted your health is in decline because of previous COVID-19 vaccines, so don’t get the booster. It’s your choice,

Like getting an abortion should be a women’s choice. That’s just common sense..

Vaccines are mandated, why not abortions?

Mandating abortions would be the opposite of forced birth.

Roe v Wade guaranteed a choice.

Roe v Wade was America’s middle ground.

Forced birth and mandated abortions are the EXTREMISTS TALKING.

Mandate abortions? You mean so other women don’t get pregnant? You do understand what causes babies…

Of course they do, trust the CDC-lol. I would just ignore Portugal, the most heavily vaccinated/boosted place in Europe having the 2nd WORST outbrake currently in the world. I would ignore SADS too, totally normal. If you disagree you’re a racist conspiracy theorist.
