UPDATE 12:36 a.m.: Press release from the Coffee Creek VFD:
At 1:23pm Monday June 27th Coffee Creek & Trinity Center VFDs were dispatched for a report of a large plume of smoke south of the KOA camping resort. Additional reports of fire between KOA & the lake bed followed in rapid order.Investigation quickly revealed there was only one fire and it was several miles north of the KOA. Our initial estimate was about 2 acres in very steep terrain west of Highway 3. Given the issues of terrain, access and early involvement of timber, we requested Dispatch order immediate air support.Within 20 minutes we obtained helicopter, reppeller & other crews. This timely response was crucial in stopping the fire’s rapid expansion & limiting its estimated acreage to under 3 acres. The Coffee Creek & Trinity Center crews established a steady & sufficient water supply for the arriving US Forest Service engine crews. CC/TC VFDs also assisted the USFS ground crews in building firelines that protected the sole threatened structure, with the fire’s encroachment halted about 50 feet from the structure.Shortly after 7pm the fire was declared contained. Contained does not mean “out” in the Smokey Bear sense. We continued shuttling water up the steep, winding road to USFS engines to keep their hoselays effective until 8:30 pm. At that time we pre-positioned another 2500+ gallons for overnight use by the Forest Service. At this time no structures remained threatened and there are no evacuations ordered.
UPDATE 12:41 p.m.: According to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, “The Flume Fire, north of Trinity Center, is contained at 2.3 acres.”

Filmed from Shasta Lake?
It looks like the fire is along Hwy 3
Trinity lake??
Yep, they used a huge telescope lense on their box brownie.
Trinity lake
Super Cool Photos!
The AirTanker retardant drop sequence is way epic, and totally on point!
Super impressive all the way around…
I wonder which AirTanker that is?
Could it be HUU Tanker 9-6???
If so, I thought it might be busy today…
Any updates on the BVFD “Barley Hill” prescribed burn?
How did that go?
I didn’t smell any smoke today, thankfully.
Was it even a “go”?
Or was it a “no/go” ???
“TEN GALLON HAT TIP!” and “Shout Out!” to Carrie Huckabay Aveningo, (🤔🧐right next to the “blaze”😉), and ‘Trinity County Alerts and Notifications’, Facebook Page, and of course, as always, last but not least, RHBB!
(Any of you cowboy-firefighters out there get the “blaze” reference pun?)
Bonus Feature!
Tap the “3 replies” under the Twitter video shot, and see the pushy, rude, fossil, Nancy Pelosi, jockeying for position against a very young, small, but sturdy, girl, and her even littler sister…
Completely and utterly shameful.
And borderline, if not obviously, racist.
Totally irrelevant to this article!
Like I said, a bonus…

Anything?
That would be east side Trinity Lake,
Awesome catch VFDs, Forest Service and Calfire
