‘Heartbreaking’…’Wonderful’: Locals Rally at the Humboldt County Courthouse for Pro Choice, but the Nation Is Divided

Thousands of protesters across the nation took to the streets yesterday holding signs and chanting slogans after the U.S. Supreme Court handed down one of the most controversial and anticipated decisions in their history. Yesterday’s decision overturned Roe V. Wade and allowed states to ban abortion.

North Coast Representative Jared Huffman said, “This decision by the radical SCOTUS goes against the will of the people and has hurled the U.S. down a terrifying path of stripping away fundamental freedoms. We cannot accept a world where our future generations have fewer rights than those that came before them.”

He joined a number of prominent Democrats in passionately repudiating the decision. Representative Ilhan Omar, for instance said, “The reversal of Roe will be recorded in the history books in the same nauseous tones as decisions like Dred Scott, Korematsu, Plessy, and Buck. This is an institution that has legitimized slavery, concentration camps, and eugenics. This decision is the same.”

On the other hand, many abortion opponents were ecstatic. Former Vice President Mike Pence said, “Today, Life Won. By overturning Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court of the United States has given the American people a new beginning for life and I commend the Justices in the majority for having the courage of their convictions.”

And closer to home, Humboldt County Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees, the only counter protester at yesterday’s pro choice rally at the Humboldt County Courthouse in Eureka, called this a “wonderful day.” He said, “We are now in a position where the states get to decide if they are going to allow the killing of innocent human life.”

Below are images our reporters captured at yesterday’s rally held in front of the Humboldt County Courthouse in Eureka.

Note: Although witnesses on the scene reported hundreds of protesters at yesterday’s rally, a count from photographs shows the number is more likely less than two hundred.

That’s silly. Nobody was forcing anyone to get one. Were all here because that’s what most people want, to have a baby. If you don’t think abortion is the right choice, don’t do it. If it’s so obvious, and clear cut, you wouldn’t need a law. Do you need a law to control the decisions of the women in your life? Do you need shenanigans to elect lying activist Supreme Court justices to force a change in an accepted ruling that goes against popular belief? If so you have a fragile position.

Supreme Court justices aren’t elected. They are nominated by the legitimately elected President and confirmed by the legitimately elected senate.

Except when the Senate acts in bad faith by refusing to consider an appropriately nominated candidate when President Obama had nearly a year left on his term and then rushed through Barrett’s nomination just a few weeks before an election.

If the Republicans take control of the Senate after the mid-term elections, you can bet that no candidate for the Court will be considered for the remaining 2 years of the current administration. And if a Democrat wins the next presidential election, they’ll continue to stonewall for an entire term if they can get away with it.

The only funny thing is their standard bearer (as judged by sad boy wearing the red MAGA style shirt)soft handed born rich NY tv celebrity Don Jon Trump, has had more of his prospective progeny aborted than 99.9% of the population. It raises the spectre that it’s a red herring issue to motivate ignorant fundamentalists. While this is getting re hashed Trump’s out there spending all your campaign contributions on bailing his fails, and not even committing to running again! Ol can’t shoot an elephant at point blank Wayne Lapierre took all your donations now too, and spent it on his fluffy ass! What a bunch of simple marks.

Do you know how much money Musk has gotten from our government ? Free loaders? And honestly, I truly admire and appreciate what Musk has done for space travel (NASA) as well as for electric cars. The amount of $ he receives is breathtaking . You should be much more concerned with that, than with some disabled person or a family in dire need of funds. To literally feed their family and keep them in a house.

and the orange guy played an even shittier game than all the other shitty guys. I know you say you’re only around 50, but I’m starting to think you’re in the boomer years. Also, you should start charging rent to Brandon. Or is it sleepy Joe? Or is it o’l Joe? Maybe my own brain is slipping, and I should put knee pads on or something.

You assume too much bud, the orange baffoon had a good circus going but ole Joe trumps his hands down. Crack me up. Like i said , if a non career politician gets to the white house with half a brain, people are going have to start making a hard honest living, no handouts for backpains or big business for supposively being green. All the same, budget surplus , freeloaders hit the road.

Let’s hope for the good of our nation, that republicans run the board, in the 2022 and 2024 election cycles and stop the destructive and ruinous policies of the left. Remember the democrats blocked a supreme court nomination of Bush using the same tactics. Don’t get me wrong, both sides of the aisle act in bad faith much too often. Let’s drain the DC sewer with term limits and return power to the people.

Weak argument these days. How would it have gone if Obama was afforded his responsibility to select during his term. Not just select; the Senate never even had a hearing. How would it have gone if Trump was denied a nomination as well just because it was his last year?what if Kavanaugh and Barrett were able to speak to their convictions at hearing, instead of lying?

Dude, have you ever known anyone in your life who had an abortion? Did they ever talk to you about it? Have you ever known anyone who had a late term abortion? Have you talked to them about it?

I’m not trolling. I’m truly asking you if you’ve ever known anyone who had an abortion, late term or early on, because either way I can assure you, no one in those situations felt like it was an easy fix . NO ONE.

IT IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM A LAZY CONTRACEPTIVE.

it is truly the most unpleasant, traumatic, heart breaking form of reproductive autonomy. It’s also very painful. We don’t do this on a whim, it’s a very hard decision to make. Stop believing these Facebook memes that make it out to be some sort of easy out for “sluts”. Abortions are not easy, ever. They hurt our hearts, our bodies, our minds.

Also, please stop trying to spread the idea that late term abortions are just given Willy nilly. You can’t just roll up, with no reason and ask to abort a late term pregnancy. It has to be something very dire, and I think you know that.

I said nothing in favor or against abortions bud. All i said is California will loosen its abortion rules in the next 90 days , BECAUSE NOW IT IS UP TO THE STATE. You don’t have to preach to me about pros or cons of an abortion, I’ve got no skin in that game, i got cut along long time ago. I raised my kids , changed thousands of diapers, took a year off work just to be with my kids when they were young, took them all over the nation as kids . Put them through college, bought them cars , houses and gave them careers to be proud of. If someone thinks they need an abortion, fine, i really don’t care either way.

Your comment makes no sense. Most people who are speaking out about a woman’s right to choose what they do with their bodies are of child bearing age. Roe v wade was 49 years ago. What does that mean? Our mothers had the choice to have an abortion and didn’t! We are pro-choice and not pro-abortion!!!!

A series of polls by YouGov found that Americans don’t know much about abortions in general, like when abortions are typically performed (in the first six weeks), who gets them (people with kids), and how prevalent they are (42 percent of unplanned pregnancies end in abortion). The number of abortions in the US jumped 8 percent from 2017 to 2020, after decades of decline.

As compared to a society of Hedonism…..

Linked to the egoistic pursuit of short-term gratification by indulging in sensory pleasures without regard for the consequences.

Mostly centered around sex and drugs, but also includes looting, murder and mayhem.

There is a lot of space for a civilized society in between the extremes, if only people wanted it and were willing to say no to the extremes.

But the future is unwritten.

For example the life of judge Clarence Thomas started exactly like that. Until a fateful day when after their house was destroyed by fire and his mother then remarried, his grandfather took over his care ..His father had abandoned the family to go north when Judge Thomas was 7 years old, and his harried poverty stricken mother sent him to live with his grandparents in Savannah, the first time he lived in a house with a toilet. His success, he has told friends, was due to his grandfather’s insistence that he go to school and work hard.

It troubles me that life has thoroughly gotten harder for so many. The idea of having a family and raising a family has become a very difficult financial choice.

It troubles me that our children have become a resource to be exploited.

It troubles me that reproduction is seen more as a problem, rather than a solution.

All you folks who want women to “choose life” so you can shoot the kid later…just don’t get an abortion. If you feel like every woman must have every pregnancy, then figure out a way to make that decision, the next 18-20 years, easier. If raising kids weren’t such a struggle for so many, nobody would even consider an abortion.

Lol. If working wasn’t so time consuming, no one would be poor.

Raising children is harder, harder than almost any other long term thing people will ever commonly do in life.

Don’t start things you can’t or have no will to finish.
Don’t start a fight you can’t win.
Don’t put more on your plate than you can eat.
Don’t take risks you can’t pay out on.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
Don’t make promises you can’t keep.

Take responsibility for the risks you take. If you don’t think sex can lead to conception, pregnancy, and child birth, go talk to people who can tell you how it works.

What if you are raped? Some states are making it illegal to abort a stillborn. A lot of red states are actually making contraceptives illegal.

Also “don’t have sex if you don’t want to get pregnant” is pretty repulsive when you are putting the burden entirely on the woman.

What if you are married, have a bunch of kids and have no legal access to contraceptives in a red state. Just keep cranking out babies cause it’s your duty as a Christian mother? The extreme example of that is the Duggar clan. Is that what you want America to look like? Pedos cranking out babies into a society that provides no help?

Life is sacred for conservatives until the baby is born, after that they are on their own because it is somehow evil to provide a social safety net for citizens?

People who have sex should use the necessary precautions/protection. If you get drunk or are fooling around and forget about protection and precautions and end up with a pregnancy, both parties should do the responsible thing and bear the brunt of the outcome, not the innocent even if unborn child. However, regarding this ruling, all it does is return the subject of abortion to the states to make their own ruling. You live in Cali so your fine. Chill.

Listen bud if you can’t figure out that statement you are the problem. I’m neither Republican or Democrat, I know both parties bear the entirety of the responsibility for the condition of our country today.

Democrats are unified in a cohesive manner. The lockstep of that party is incredible. If Leader Pelosi says one thing every single democrat is parroting that party line from AOC in DC to pink pussy hat lady down to the guy who doesn’t know what bathroom to use.

Republicans have no such unity and are disorganized at best and one or a few always sell out to the Democrats’ wants. Also I watch every Republican talk about how they hate government handouts and all the government programs and blah blah blah. Yet every single Republican dutifully pays their taxes and funds all the stuff they hate because it’s the law der hehe.

So democrats have passed a lot of shit laws but in the end it’s the “silent majority,” ya know, the “working class,” the Republicans who have funded every single last bit of it.

Then I listen to the real smart ones talk about civil war. It’s like you idiot! Stop paying your taxes first! Sure talk about civil war and provide your supposed enemy funds until the day you decide to pull the trigger? On a well-funded enemy who bought their weapons with your money?

Stop paying taxes, but but the gubbamint will take my land! Well change is never easy and requires sacrifice. Milk toast wimpy disorganized Republicans who have funded every single social program and government handout they complain about. Yes you are public enemy Number 1!

Seems as though you can’t connect any dots. So you are saying that Republican tax payers haven’t funded every single social program that Democrats have brought into existence? While at the same time bitching about them? And believing that voting will solve things while one of your RINO’s always flips and ensures the democrat agenda gets pushed through Congress?

I’m saying the ones who continually fund the Democrats and bloated government are a much bigger problem than the actual government itself. Are you saying I’m wrong?

Guns and abortion. Guns are made to kill people. The main argument against abortion is that it’s a life, such a precious life. So precious, I will decide for you. So I could understand being against abortion, if you were also anti gun. The argument for gun ownership comes down to making a decision to end a life on your own terms should you see fit.
Tell me what other platform Republicans have now. Let’s see how many Republicans vote to holiday the Federal fuel taxes.

$20? 42 cents per gallon on diesel, or the 18 cents, I can’t remember which one is state or Federal , but if you burn 300 gallons a week driving bullshit around for people, it adds up. $180?

Besides taxation, and highway maintenance is Socialism.

“Besides taxation, and highway maintenance is Socialism.”

No, it’s not socialism. It’s in the Preamble to the US Constitution…promote the general welfare…

General welfare means providing the infrastructure needed for free trade, commerce, and transportation. In later years it led to clean drinking water and sewage treatment. Could have led to free electricity, but by then the politicians were corrupt and getting too many kickbacks from the developing oligarchs.

But I digress. The general welfare in the Preamble had nothing to do with taking from those that do and giving it to the can’t do’s or will not’s. THAT’S Socialism. And it’s high time to end it. Case in point is Kalifornistan. Some of the highest taxes in the nation and the highest homeless rate in the nation. If anyone wants to see that socialism doesn’t work, look at those numbers right there. And idiots keep electing vermin who tell you they need to raise taxes for this n that and nothing gets done, but the abject poor and homeless keep swelling. Idiots even DIRECTLY vote to impose taxes on themselves with bond measures and such.

Alright, I’m going to one-up all of you. How about this one.
What if we, the mob of fools……make abortions legal, but the only legal means of abortion is to perform it with a standard firearm. You must compromise with your countrymen. If there is no middle ground, we will all fail. Someone ship guns to planned parenthood so this can all settle and be let to pass.

“If raising kids weren’t such a struggle for so many, nobody would even consider an abortion.“

It’s only a struggle when one feels they “have” to have a tv, computer, internet, every damned streaming service and cable channel, two cars on loan in the driveway of a huge house with no savings, credit cards maxed out and no will to work (and work hard). Then votes Democrat so they keep having to pay more of their income in taxes leaving less to pay the bank, the auto loans, the landlord, the cable company and then wonder why they don’t have any money to feed their kids or buy diapers. That’s IF it’s a married couple. Even more desperation ensues when a woman decides to fornicate with a boy man, that still rides a bmx bike around, with no job, no future and can’t find his ass with both hands.

What does the world owe ignorant wretches that make stupid decisions?

“Stupid is, as stupid does…” Forrest Gump

We’re about four generations removed from hard working people raising large families in two or three room houses, no running water and no electricity. Ask yourself how your great or great-great grandparents raised your predecessors.

That’s funny… I always think that all the Pro-Lifers I see are definitely the people no one would want to procreate with. Maybe they should save their opinions for laws that actually impact them. 35 and talking of your ‘future children’. Time to come down to reality or at least admit you can’t have it all in life. Waiting forever to have kids but still planning to have kids past 35 is pretty irresponsible and selfish considering the increased negative effects to the abilities of someone born to somone relatively old in terms of child bearing years versus someone younger.

I meant wanted as if I get pregnant and chose to keep the baby it would be a wanted child. As opposed to the thousands of women who will now have to carry unwanted babies to full term. Personally I don’t really want kids, but if the situation was right I wouldn’t be opposed, but it would have to be a perfect situation. I’m currently sitting in España on an extended 3 month vacation… I’m completely content with my choices thus far and happy with my life ❤️ Cheers 🍹

Interesting interpretation. I think by virtue of the fact that they use a direct address of if “you”… and not, if “one” … It is an obvious attack. Didn’t you already have a big explanation how using one makes it more generic but if you say you it is interpreted as a personal attack
That’s what I thought you said….

I read it to say (based on the stated objection to dating older than 35) if 35 is too old, then – in my 1911 -is def an incel. And you don’t even address the unsolicited advice about how if he breaks constraints and “gets a girlfriend ” he’ll accomplish more …what the hell! He never ask anybody for that.

Incel is a derogatory term and allowing trash like that thoroughly muddies your “rules.” It makes the moderation look persona bias l first. And policy second.

Ha! Slavery was never made illegal! The plantation just got extended from the east to the west coast and from Canada down to Mexico.

Ever hear of property taxes? If you rent you have to work to pay your rent and you don’t get to stop. If you are fortunate enough to “buy” a house, then you have to pay property taxes on it for the rest of your life, or else the government takes it from you. That’s forced labor under duress. And it s a scam. Work your entire life to be able to pay money to pretty much lease land from the government. You don’t actually own it, and you have to keep working to pay the government to keep it, otherwise your out on the street. You ever watch Animal Farm?

And besides, I’m guessing you typed your comment from an iPhone or computer, each of which has chips with conflict metals in them mined by forced child labor. So don’t go bring up slavery when you fully support it, just like I fully support it and anybody who owns an iPhone or shoes supports it. I’m sure it would be mighty inconvenient if you had to make your own shoes or pay the price that shoes would cost if they were made by non-slave labor, just as it might’ve been mighty inconvenient for them southern plantation owners to start picking their own cotton or having to pay to have it picked. Just mighty inconvenient, but as long as it’s not-in-my-backyard, it’s ok. You can virtue signal against it while supporting it all you like.

There’s a spectrum of behaviors. You had Irish slaves, indentured servitude, cults. We still have young Mormon boys building Amazon terminals without pay. There was also the Barbados plantation style slavery based on kidnapped Africans that was imported to the coastal Deep South. Your little “slave wager” comparison is pretty weak compared to what went on. Order a pizza and play grown up video games.

The unemployment rate is at 3.6% currently for all of US. 4% to 5% is (was? it’s been awhile since I took economics in school) considered “full employment”.

California is at 4.3%. Texas is 4.2% for comparison.

It’s not the pay that’s the issue. It’s the inability to retire to your own land and work it and provide yourself your own food and resources while being able to tune out of this society, WITHOUT still paying the government, since you paid to supposedly own your property. Property taxes completely destroy that option. I would like to actually own the land I supposedly own, not have to continue to work to pay a tax to a government so I can continue to keep what I supposedly own. That’s a problem man!

Good chart. I’m confident the majority support legal abortions for the 1% in your first six categories but that support diminishes quickly for the 99% of “convenience” abortions your stats show, particularly after 12 weeks when the baby has a heartbeat and feels pain when dismembered in the abortion procedure. Online abortion pills are the most convenient means for women to get rid of their babies, growing in popularity and easy in ALL STATES as buying shoes even after this Roe decision

Hebilla Cinturón de Rodeo

What are the stats on physical ability to breast feed? Why is there an infant formula “shortage”. Why is it hard to breast feed and maintain a family sustaining job at Waffle House on a minimum wage? Why would a woman work at Waffle House instead of simply choosing to be rich and successful like Amy Barret, or Ginnie Thomas. Maybe we should craft a law that limits a woman’s choice to be unsuccessful.

Many women aren’t sure they’re even pregnant at 12 weeks.
Here’s a reality check squirrel bait, if men could get pregnant abortion would be a sacrament.
This isn’t about babies health or your F@#ked up version of morality. It’s about subjugating over half of the population. It’s about producing sufficient canon fodder to launch against the “evil muslim hoards” in the Middle East in your so called final conflict.
You do realize the men who wrote that poppycock were starving monks stoned on ergot and psilocybin? Then King James took your bible to Parliament for final approval.
That might explain how they found people named Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Middle East.🙄

Jared Huffman is a fraud who has joined the squad. Most other countries have time limits on abortion save for medical exigencies. The Supreme court ruling does not make abortion illegal. It simply says it’s up to the individual states. They went too far with their ruling, though. They should have simply said the Mississippi 15 week law was within that states power to enact, based on scientific evidence of fetal viability. On the other hand, one certainly shouldnt be able to throw a baby in the trash can at birth. That really disturbs me, as does a total ban on abortion by some states. I wonder how the Court would have ruled if Schuler, Pelosi and company hadn’t chastised the new justices. Payback is a bitch, Chuckie. That goes for you too, Jared.

The usual crew showing up again, constitutional ignoramus’ as there is no right to an abortion or healthcare. Sorry liberals, you are protesting for rights which never existed in the first place. That is what is so beautiful about the Constitution, it is up to every individual to take care of themselves, to acquire their own healthcare, payed for by themselves, not everybody else. If you cannot pay, then through the goodness of the taxpayers, there is free healthcare for those in need as well as gov provided healthcare for seniors over 65. It is really pretty simple. And if you get pregnant, it is nobodies fault but your own. Hence, in California you can still get an abortion. In Oklahoma, you will need to go to a pro abortion state. Another simple concept the usual crew doesn’t understand, states rights as spelled out in the Constitution. As an example, the reason they don’t understand is that they would never allow open carry in California and the dems would wig out if the Republicans followed their path and said every state must be the same. Since Arizona and many other states are open carry, then all states will be open carry. For some reason, hmmm, I don’t think the democrats would like that very much. And for guns, it is a right guaranteed in the Constitution, unlike abortion or healthcare.,So democrats, you lose in your mindless, unwarranted, and constitutionally illegal national takeover attempt.

Except for cases of rape, which is a criminal act, the only way a woman gets under a man is by allowing him to get on top. That was her choice.

So, is this what the pro-abortion stance comes down to, meme? Because a couple wants to have sex for more than procreation, they want the option of killing a developing human baby because they’re irresponsible?

If a couple wants to have sex for more than procreation, there are simple and effective ways to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.

And yes, one of them may involve ass-wiping after the act is committed.

Aborting a human is “ healthcare ?” Agreed, there are some ( very few) instances when an abortion may be warranted. There are SO many easily available contraceptives out there now , but I get that some times really bad situations happen. But …. You should know when you are pregnant well before it actually arrives right ? So at some point this little fetus is a human! Where’s the cutoff ? If you are the parent and you go ahead and give birth , can you still abort he/she ? After all it’s your “ choice “ right ? Maybe up to 18 ? It’s just “ healthcare “ right 🤷‍♀️

So ya got drunk, made a bad decision, had some unprotected sex, and now regret it. So the correct course of action is to take the easy way out and prevent a viable human from having a chance at life by having an abortion? Seems like the real stand-up way to go about life, parents must be proud.

Were people never taught that sex is an act of reproduction and comes with potential consequences of disease as well? I don’t understand the disconnect where people engage in the reproductive act, for fun, don’t use any contraception, and then are surprised once they are pregnant?

humboldturtle

A. That’s not a viable human being, it is part of the woman.
B. Mothers with unwanted babies get shame, not pride.
C. Who says the reproductive act isn’t fun?

A. Please provide evidence as to the contrary that it is not a viable human. Science says it is, as an egg upon fertilization, possesses the 4 metrics that science has determined constitutes life.

B. Most mothers who have their children fall in love with them and want them. There are mothers who don’t want their kids, there is an option for that, it’s called giving them up for adoption. If you are mother and make it known to your child that they are unwanted, then shame is well deserved.

C. Just because something is fun doesn’t mean it’s right. I believe people who smoke meth and engage in criminal behavior think it’s fun, do you support them too?

Your arguments work if you divorce women from emotion. Just give em up for adoption! Abortion! Such an easy decision! Why, she’s probably glad he split, and her job sucks so she can have a fun entertaining termination!
Shooting guns is fun. A gun is designed to terminate life from a distance by pulverizing vitals with lead. If you are pro gun, and anti choice, you lost any appearance of consistency.

No science doesn’t say that. Religion says that.

Can the fertilized egg (i.e. the zygote) survive apart from the uterus? If not, it isn’t a life but a developmental stage on the path to “life”.

4 metrics of life: ability to maintain homeostasis, metabolism, cell division, response to stimuli.

A fertilized egg and developing embryo are incapable of maintaining homeostasis on its own — that’s why it is completely dependent upon the womb to do so. The mother provides homeostatic conditions.

Well, to be fair, contraceptives can fail also (probably a very small amount of cases). But I definitely agree that there could have been many preventative steps that could have been utilized before we get to the abortion step. They didn’t outlaw plan b, did they? That’s still an option for those who were a bit careless with their “night moves.”

This is merely a symptom of the larger problem which you alluded to earlier. People’s lack of (in my opinion) education on the outcomes of sexual intercourse and accountability for their actions.

That’s the thing, nothing was outlawed, abortion was not made illegal, in fact, here in California absolutely nothing will change. The states get to decide what to do with the abortion topic. The majority in California seem to want it, so it will stay. The majority in other states will want it as well, so it will be available in those states, some will place restrictions on it, and others may outlaw it completely, but that is supposed to be based on what the majority of the populations of THOSE states want.

If the majority wants it, it will stay, if it doesn’t, it will go. Seems pretty counterintuitive for Californians to be upset about the minority in other states not getting what they want regarding abortion. If the script were flipped, that means the minority would get what they want in California and abortion would be outlawed, I’m sure Californians would have a fit about that, so maybe mind our own business and other states should mind theirs?

Cy AnseD
Member

That’s the thing, nothing was outlawed, abortion was not made illegal,

That is demonstrably false. Because of a mix of trigger laws and old laws that were on the books but never enforced, there are now a number of states that have made abortions a criminal act.

You do realize this is the United States of America, right? That means all of us have inherent rights that we all should be fighting to protect. The right to make private medical decisions is one of those, it’s as simple as that.

Abortion pills are available online nationwide and are effective to 10 weeks. This hasn’t changed for anyone with Roe decision, nothing’s changed in California and many other states constituting a majority of the population

Trying to convince people that want to take us back to horse and buggy days because … climate change… that science has evolved in the 50 years since abortion was erroneously legislated from the bench seems counter productive. Especially since they see it as a right in the Constitution that they can’t cite. But the “woke” ones are convinced that the only way to murder their unwanted child (because they cannot logically think through cause and affect) is by the most violent means possible. In the meantime, they want to screech at those of us that would protect ourselves from violent predators that would harm us post-term, that we should not have the means to protect ourselves from that violence with the tools allowed us in the Constitution that we can show them in writing all day everyday.!

You cannot make up a more illogical script that these “oh so educated” simpletons adhere to.

But remember, our system of checks and balances gives proportional representation to land, and not population in the Senate. The Senate is the gatekeeper for the more popularly represented House. Let’s say everyone is equally mobile in Alabucky. Unpopular laws lead people to just move to another state. Easy right? Florxas would still get two senators despite now having only twelve residents. Like Wyoming now.

You’re defending Missouri’s “state rights” to make it illegal for women who get impregnated by rape or incest from obtaining an abortion, saying they can simply go to Kansas. Essentially Missouri is protecting incest and rape pregnancies by forcing women who are impregnated by incest and rape to go full term, and by you defending Missouri’s states rights to do just that, you are in fact defending incest and rape pregnancies. So you’re cool with incest, rape and inbred children? That’s messed up, dude….

There are women who are victims, and many that just play victim but actually actively instigated their own situation.

Be truthful.

Two people do it. One of them gets stuck with the baby. Let that one make the law. If you are a woman and don’t want an abortion, don’t do it. What if we just let woman lawmakers, and justices vote on this? What do you think the outcome would be?

HotCoffee

The man doesn’t get a say or a choice if the woman has the baby.
She has all the rights and that’s why she gets “stuck” with the baby, the baby is sometimes used as a pawn to control the man.

These are typical situations.

I think many men would take the baby if given a choice,
she gets 9 months and the wear on her body, he gets 18 yrs or more and the wear on his body.

He might even have another woman who wants to help raise the baby.and that might really piss her off.

There are many scenarios, but as it stood and still stands, the woman is the only one with rights, none for the father or the baby.

She doesn’t even have to tell the father she’s pregnant, she can even take the morning after pill before she knows if she’s pregnant,
How much power called choice does she need?

I think we need more solutions than kill the innocent baby.

One would be a birth control pill for men.
Pills for feral cats would be useful to.

Can someone please explain how taking rights away from American citizens is in any way a good thing? I do not consider myself a “liberal”… I have continuously voted for members of both major parties. Why is the same consideration not applicable for child bearing aged women? In all honesty, why do you all care so much about what other people do?

Because it was unconstitutional legislation from the bench in 1973 and it’s not a right or freedom guaranteed in the Constitution to murder our unborn future citizens.

I, and several others have pointed out these facts elsewhere in the comment section.

However, should you reside in the United Socialist Counties of Kalifornistan, you’re still going to enjoy the pleasure of state sanctioned murder, should you so choose. The vermin running this state will find ways to funnel its indentured servants earnings to the abortion clinics that launder that money back to their wallets or purses while throwing a few crumbs to those that will not so they can continue garnering votes from the parasitic class under the guise of “helping the less fortunate” as the numbers of lower middle class continue to decrease while the abject poor and homeless increase.

In the meantime, those that do will continue having their earnings stripped to continue the flow of money up to the oligarchs who pull the strings of the vermin (politicians).

You may keep contributing to your enslavement.

It’s remarkable to me how these stark republicans preach FREEDOM FREEDOM FREEDOM but dance around my question regarding abortion rights when I ask it.

If a man’s penis is in your body, does that mean you then have the right to do anything with it, including things that are destructive biologically to it even though it was invited in?

If you’ve read any of my comments you would know I’m clearly defending products of rape and incest. And in that regard, if a man’s penis is in my body as a product of rape or incest, then yes, I would like to do anything “biologically destructive” to it that can be done (which I’m not sure what that means, and I’m genuinely intrigued. Please provide examples, not being sarcastic at all… Genuinely want to know.)

an example of ‘biologically destructive’ would be engaging in oral sex and then biting off a man’s dick because it was technically inside your body. The point i’m making is that just because something is in your body, does not necessarily imply there is logic to support doing whatever you want to it much more than to things that aren’t in your body. Rape and incest are not ‘invited’. Few abortions are the result of rape. How many drunk drivers are just surprised soon-to-be-fathers who’s wives waters suddenly and unexpectedly broke, because if it has ever happened that a father has driven drunk with his wife to deliver to the hospital, that people should support drunk driving.

You have the freedom to exist….let’s say in a few year’s society decides you’re not a benefit to climate change, so we can just exterminate you, to make our lives better. After all you’re a burden, as are the mentally ill, the physically handicapped, autistic…hmm, where does it end?
You’d be fine with that, right? After all, it’s our world, our choice.

Hypothetical of course…maybe.

I am a college educated 35 year old healthy woman. I primarily work as an accountant and have always contributed my fair share of taxes to the good ole USA. You’re honestly comparing me to an unborn fetus? I’m not condoning abortions in the 3rd or even 2nd trimester… I’m talking about literal sacks of cells. How do you truly not see the difference?

I’ll say the same this to you as to the others then, if you’re so morally above me and pro-life, then can I have your address? I’ll give it to the women who are forced to give birth to their rape and incest babies. They can drop the unwanted children off at your door, which will unquestionably have mental and psychological issues, and you can spend your life and your money taking care of those children. But it’s all good, Since you’re sooooooo pro-life right?

When will you people learn this will one day affect you, too. Nothing breeds criminality more than an unwanted child in an unnurtured environment.

As a 71-year-old woman who’s raised 2 kids, and many of their friends, I would think a college educated 35-year-old healthy woman might better spend her energy
creating a nurturing environment for all people not only babies to live in, instead of supporting killing them, but it might cost some of your precious money and time out of your life…. I’ve heard people that do that are called heroes and much loved in their communities.
Look around, some amazing people were raised in an un-nurtured environment, and they usually had a mentor.

I’ve had kids of wealthy parents come over that would rather have a plate of rice and beans at my house than eat steak at their own, especially if they got to help make it, money isn’t everything.

Also, since you care about human life so much, can I have your address? I’ll give it to the women who get impregnated by rape and incest and can’t obtain abortions. They’ll drop their unwanted inbred and rape babies off at your door for you… and you can spend your life (and money) taking care of those children who will undoubtably have medical and psychological issues. But you welcome them, right? You know… since you care so much about human life.

Stupid ignorant protester signs that say…

“Abortion is healthcare”, are sickening…

When the focus of healthcare becomes abortion, we are lost as a civilized society.

Such protesters may as well sport banners that say…

“EUTHANASIA IS HEALTHCARE”…

Abortion is euthanasia, no matter how you slice it.

And for all the people who haven’t figured it out yet, here is another very good reason to keep your dick in our pants, and/or shut your holes…

Yep…

Fauci teamed up with Biden and his pet research group , University of Pennsylvania, to play games with monkeypox…

https://nationalfile.com/exclusive-fauci-funded-monkeypox-vaccine-maker-paid-bidens-host-university-for-clinical-trial-of-monkeypox-vaccine/

“The University of Pennsylvania is being paid by Bavarian Nordic,” the 2014 document states. Biden joined UPenn after leaving the vice presidency in 2017. Anthony Fauci used approximately $100 million in U.S. taxpayer funds to pay Bavarian Nordic for the vaccine and the Biden administration has used over $100 million in taxpayer funds to buy the monkeypox vaccines.
As I also reported, the University of Pennsylvania makes massive money off Coronavirus vaccines. UPenn gets paid by Pfizer’s vaccine partner BioNtech in licensing payments for mRNA technology and UPenn even makes more money if Pfizer-BioNTech sells more vaccines and gets more FDA approvals from the Biden administration, thanks to a deal UPenn made in 2018 when Biden worked for the university.”

Euthanasia might be better healthcare than we get. My Dad’s MIA in Kaiser, supposed to go to a care facility, they didn’t know he was coming, nobody tells my Mom nothin. We don’t know where he’s at. Time to file a writ of habeas corpus! Before the Supremes get rid of that. My Grandma in law (90) had back pain, took what they gave her, her neighbor’s a doctor, pointed out they prescribed her anti depressants!? Never explained what they gave her. Now they’re telling her, “oh you better wean yourself off that slowly!” Shes uptight, but definitely not depressed.

I don’t understand the point, California it’s legal so no issue here to kill your babies. The constitution never eunumerated any right to abortion, Meaning the federal government never had a right to force States to allow it, only the states have the right to decide as per the constitution. If you want federally protected right to kill babies there is a process called constitutional amendment, there are 2 ways to do it, state convention or Congress.

All this not-in-the-constitution talk by the “pro-life” crowd. It’s cover. Go read the actual history of abortion in the USA (not Christian-machine backed sources … who like to conveniently edit Hx).

18th through 20th Century Hx, in particular, is men (led mostly by society-leading all-male doctors, politicians, businessmen) behind closed doors sticking their dicks in women most any time they wanted to. Whether women wanted IT or not. Then women being left with the resulting decision, OR, the man swinging his other dick (the fist, and/or financial power) decreeing “get rid of it”.

It’s best not to try and be too sophisticated, lawyerly, high-minded, over what’s really always been an issue of swole: men, swinging dicks of all kinds, ejaculating everywhere, then either walking away or decreeing what happens next. Today, cuz they can’t ejaculate at will nor slap women around so easily anymore, the old male-mindset still has dick pushing into women’s minds. Eject!

Me devoted Catholic mum had me and several siblings before Roe. She wanted abortions but they were illegal and her church demanded she have children she didn’t want. She was a complete unfit mother who’d go to prison for abuse by today’s criteria. She wrote letters to celebrities trying to sell us off. Finally her church gave us away. Me brother Anthony went to the Catholic Nebraska Boys Farm where he was sexualy, physically abused for a decade before turning 18 and let go. I had a similar fate. It would really had been better not to have been born. To start out in life with such heavy burdens is the true crime here. Not all women are fit to be mothers as not all men are fit to be fathers. Adoption is not the answer.

The solution would be killing the people running the Nebraska Child Prostitution ring that was ran by Larry King. If you kill those adults instead of the conceived, you wouldn’t have that going on. Instead, this country is so corrupt, it lets publicly disclosed child sex traffickers working to blackmail the government go free while we debate the merits of the value of snuff out the growth of life.

Are you saying the case of Larry King of the Nebraska republican GOP in the 80’s I think is a completely made up story. I don’t know what pizzagate is but I doubt the story of the Israeli spy called Jeffrey Epstein doing the same on a more elaborate scale is not something to scoff at as non-sense conspiracy ‘theory’. Do you think that Epstein & Maxwell are not real people?

The Franklin child prostitution ring is, and was determined to be a hoax. King and others in the credit union were busted for embezzlement. As i said, state AND federal grand juries found it to be so. In fact one of the false accusers went to prison for 4 1/2 years for it.

I’m just interested why you went back over 30 years to a discredited case instead of correctly pointing out Epstein.

Oh, Pizzagate? You know, the one where Hillary and other Democrats were running a child abuse ring out of the basement of a specific pizza joint?

One that didn’t have a basement, btw. But that didn’t stop some idiot from bringing a gun to said pizza place to “save the children”. Thankfully he didn’t hurt anyone, but he did fire off some shots from his tacticool rifle. He was sentenced to 4 years.

You brought up the King “scandal”, I pointed out that it was found to be absolute bullshit.

Crap like that and Pizzagate do more harm to actual victims of pedophiles, because false accusations make people more skeptical of actual reported abuse. And like I said, why did you bring up an old discredited thing instead of leading with an actual case of abuse (Epstein).

Why do you clearly avoid the subject of what Jeffrey Epstein was doing. He was working for Mossad and running child sex trafficking rings targeting the US government for blackmail of influential individuals. Do you think that is not true? If you ignore Nebraska as well as your favored subjects of Qanon, isn’t it enough to know about Jeffrey Epstein to think that ignoring what he was doing while putting effort to talk about other issues seems to support them and their activities by saying it was not real.

How does a jury lie. You may know but I can’t think of a way a jury lies. I thought a jury just makes a decision of guilty or not guilty, on a spectrum of potential charges. Do juries get up and talk and argue issues? I can expose the information than a smart reader could then conclude from reading that you are likely interested in putting effort to discredit something that should not be worth your effort unless you are into some weird things.

The documentary that was produced by The Discovery Channel (in the 90’s I think) was removed because all the claims the kids made it it were lies right. All the articles about Larry King were lies right. You have even concluded that other related claims to animal and child sacrifices were also far out BS claims and not based on anything of substance, just imagination and desire to destroy the credibility of people targeted by the accusations is sounds like.

Paul Bonacci, one of the kids to tells his story was full of it and making false claims it sounds like you think.

And why post a wikipedia link to the pizzagate distraction and not to the government version of the the actual boys town prostituion ring wikipedia article. The article gives the coverup version of the story, but at least keep it relevant if you are trying to present the cleansed version of the story, wikipedia made it easy for you but you prefer to do straw man arguments by bringing up some moron targeting moving like Qanon and the associated Pizzagate dumbed down stories of no substance or information.

William Barr has been around to cover up child sex trafficking planned by his father since at least back to the time of Larry King in Nebraska. Letters were sent to him notifying him of what was going on but he instead helped to cover it up. The same thing is happening with another ‘Jeffrey Esptein type of Character’ in the form of Michael Goguen, who also working on behalf of an intelligence agency. He currently lives in Whitefish, Montana and has similar connections that Jeffrey Epstein also had. He is involved in sex trafficking and is backed by intellginece agency funding by hiding the money in the cover of his ‘venture capital’ career. He is no different. There are multiple Jeffrey Epstein’s out there and they are doing a job planned by people above them. Jeffrey Epstein was just one of many agents targeting the US government. If you think I’m full of it, maybe look up ‘Operation Snow White’ and see what even the Church of Scientology was capable of doing to the US government if you think decades and decades of ongoing blackmail operations are something to try to downplay and act as if they are not realistic threats.

It’s not Catholics, it’s the “Evangelicals”. As Barry Goldwater (no libby there) said:

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can’t and won’t compromise. I know, I’ve tried to deal with them.”

It’s both — 5 of the 6 justices who voted to overturn Roe are Catholics. Barrett was a member of an ultra-conservative Catholic cult. Gorsuch was the only justice voting to overturn who isn’t Catholic and he was raised Catholic but now apparently attends an Episcopal church.

The Democrats are going to try to use this ruling as a way to energize people to support them in the midterms. They’re going to promise to pass legislation to legalize abortion etc.. but that’s not going to be politically viable. If it was, they would have done this a long time ago.

Definitely works for me. I have my issues with the democrats; the homelessness issue which they have a blind spot about, the permissiveness on drug culture etc but an issue like this trumps others. Womens freedom is very important to me and taking freeedom of privacy away is not what the court should be doing in this time. Also, most of the country agrees with me so, I guess this will be a losing issue politically with the backward thinking republicans.
The Democrats move forward, maybe sideways but trying to go forward. Republicans are clearly the party of backwards.

The Republicans have an energized base already for the midterms if you believe your own polls. Banning abortion outright is much less of an issue for working class republicans than gas prices, inflation, foreign aid and entanglements.
The naive fantasy that liberals and democrats will become “the party of peace” again is ridiculous. The diehards are more numerous and bloodthirsty than any of the Supposed white supremacy nazis that the left continually cries wolf about. I don’t think we’ll get too much rioting over this, but we’ll see.

It’s their game plan to make it seem like they care more than the REPs and that there is a big difference between the parties. But both parties are run by the mega-wealthy for the mega-wealthy and both are militaristic and corporate- owned. Neither party cares about you or me or any of my neighbors. The DEMs under Clinton and Obama had the presidency AND both houses but never passed legislation assuring abortion rights, just like they have not under Biden. It’s a smokescreen and you are all being played…They have $$$$ and if one of their family needs an abortion they will just fly to a state like CA and get it done in a nice care facility with Netflix and excellent food. They do not care about us. Get it through your head. It’s just a game to them…working the masses into frenzy and laughing, laughing at their country clubs

And that is exactly why the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade. The Supreme Court attempted legislation from the bench in 1973. That’s unconstitutional and abortion is not a right enumerated in the Constitution. Therefore, it is only Congress that can pass a bill that needs to be signed by the president to become a law. If Congress is split on the issue, it will remain up to the states to legislate based on their constituents wishes.

But demanding it NOW like the child told no in the candy aisle is just going to garner pro-choice people a lot of resentment and bitterness. Chances are no one is going to listen to, act on, or give into your demands.

It’s weird because at 2 different recent points the DEMs have controlled the House, Senate and Presidency. Why didn’t they pass that legislation? They didn’t even introduce it! So…what’s up with the DEMs?? Why do they take such a big stand yet do nothing?

Hi Lemmings. I hope this abortion sideshow distraction is sufficient to keep you idiot human monocrop busy in your empty echo chamber skulls while we devalue the currency your lives are completely intertwind with and dominated by and you keep bickering about non-issues. People who feel the need to ask the government for what they are allowed to do are the problem. Do what you are going to do. You want to end the growth of your conceived (egg fertilized by sperm that is rapidly proliferating cells and developing as a unitized biological entity of organized cells) isn’t that on you as much as anything else. Heroin and meth are illegal and that stuff is available. You really think the police are going to come get you for snuff out the growth in your belly. Your bigger problem is asking the government for permissions. By asking for permission and being dissappointed by their answer, you lost your own rights and power and authority. If you need the government to help you, and that’s why you ask of their approval and stance, then it makes sense to be concerned about their determinations.

Why not decriminalize abortion instead of making it legal or illegal. Every time you idiots go looking to the government to tell you what’s right or wrong you lose no matter what the answer is.

I will also now be a prick and point out the obvious. Judging by protest pictures, half the women at the protests supporting abortion would be lucky to have sex with someone who would stick around, and many look very far from being physically healthy for the good of carrying a child through a full term pregnancy.

Abortion is not something to be proud of or fight for any more than deforestation.

Ummmmmm back alley abortions are drastically different than legally obtained medically provided abortions by doctors. Are you not familiar with basic OBGYN practices??? I’m confused by your comment, are you condoning the use of coat hangers by saying they’re the same as a doctor administered abortion, or condoning doctors risking their licenses and freedoms to perform illegal yet medically sound abortions?

If a coat hanger is the best a person can figure out then maybe that is what they should use. Without being versed in abortion practices, I’m willing to talk out my ass by stating that there has to be at least a few other realistic alternatives than using a coat hanger. That’s like saying if the government banned masturbation, it would mean you are now technically forced to masturbate with pineapples. Of course when you are going to shove a coat hanger in one of your orifices, you have to be sure to first travel to a back alley also, it’s not effective at home in your bathroom with the heater on.

That’s awesome, no one wants to be told what to do, that makes sense then. This probably means these people are largely bound to become or at least try to become small business owners and self employed. That gives me hope for this country, reversing the trends.

When you can’t handle anyone else telling you what to do, that’s when you know you can only work for yourself. I’ve been there too and I know the sentiment. I’m so glad these people want to take the reigns of responsibility and risk into their own hands.

The point continually ignored by anti abortionists is that making an abortion illegal doesn’t stop them. Never has in all of history and never will. It just means safe abortions disappears. The old ways of toxic substances, poisonous herbs herbs and unsanitary coat hangers become what’s left. Along with misusing over the counter or internet feticides with news worthy results of damaged babies and dead mothers.

Anti abortionists have now surrendered any control over abortions.

It’s not all about you and what you think. For some, removing that Federal right is exactly that- an outright, full spectrum government ban. The Supreme Court did not say some abortions or under certain circumstances. They said there is no right, no level of Federal protection to stop extremist views. Women are going to die from this. Women who didn’t want an abortion but needed it as a medical necessity. They are going to be refused medical care in the name of abortion bans.

“But disaster struck soon after the couple from Washington arrived on the Mediterranean island, they told Insider. Andrea’s water broke, and her placenta started detaching at just 16 weeks. Her pregnancy was no longer viable.
But the traumatic experience became life-threatening due to Malta’s ban on abortion. ”

https://www.businessinsider.com/woman-denied-life-saving-abortion-is-hellscape-of-roe-v-wade-repeal-2022-6

In places where there is no protection from anti abortion fanatics, someone’s opinion about anything that could possibly damage a foetus is enough.

” One such case, in El Salvador, which has one of the strictest abortion bans in the world, has gone all the way to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, where a ruling is expected by the end of this year. Manuela, a 33-year-old woman who went to hospital to seek treatment after a miscarriage, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for homicide. She died in jail in 2010.”

“According to a 2012 survey, about 6% of American pregnant women admit to using illicit drugs, while 8.5% drink alcohol and 16% smoke cigarettes.” If she does any of these things, someone somewhere will consider that to be a chargable abortion. “At the root of these cases is the idea that women, once they become a mother, should put their foetus first no matter what, said Emma Milne, a legal scholar of gender and crime who teaches at Durham University in the UK.”

I’d say our democracy died yesterday, but the DNC did that back in 2016. What we’re seeing here is the result of forty years of concentrated corruption on both sides of the aisle with Republicans leading the charge against human rights and the Democrats wringing their hands as they seek a compromise.
Compromise never works when dealing with fanatics of any stripe and in spite of Democrats lifting the glass ceiling for a select few, they’ve always been happy to throw anyone without a seven digit+ annual income under the bus.
I read a headline today calling the GOP “The dog who caught the car”. I assure you this is just the first wave of attacks on human rights and dignity by those who’ve been working diligently to reduce the US to what Germany was in 1936.
Sadly, they’re winning.
I’m just glad my Pop’s not here to see the country he fought fascism for becoming everything he put his life on the line to fight against.

But yeah- good on her. I have friends from all sides of the political spectrum who hold good morals and values. We can debate and argue but we are stuck together in these uncertain times. I think the arguments a lot of abortion supporters try to make would make a lot more sense if they were about the right to sterilize your self by your own choosing. If you are so against a cause and effect reaction, a known chain reaction, or an if this then that scenario, maybe those people should really consider sterilizing themselves. Otherwise they just seem selfish and irresponsible and spiteful of their own biology and natural functions. If you sterilize yourself there is no debate and killing, there is no conception to kill off. Many problems arise in life and get worse when people are set on unrealistic expectations and results. One unrealistic expectation is that you can reap the pleasures of life without the tertiary work and associated effects and functions.

Birth control pills mess with a woman’s hormones, because they are high levels of hormones in a pill form. If you want things that go against logic, you will bring about other problems. The cycle gets worse as each step tries to be compensated for by coming up with another ‘fix’ instead of going back to the source and cause for what is not healthy.

It’s not just young women, locally you can’t get a vasectomy very easily because St. Joe’s prohibits it and they control the vast majority of local health care providers.

Even in places where you can, it’s frequently rejected for young males without kids because “you might want kids in the future“.

All I see is a bunch of angry confused women, who did not realize what sex is really about. They probably got pregnant when they were young, killed there unborn babies, now don’t know how to deal with the grief of what they have done, so they have to tell themselves a bunch of lies about how it wasn’t a child or make up excuses in their minds for why what they did was acceptable. Its very sad. I also see alot of women who are immature, do not make good mothers, are not responsible people and are unfit for being mothers. As for the men, i see alot of looser guys who would not make good fathers and are too immature to support a women much less any children.

I know what you wrote is no joke. These women actually go on to hurt people and are spreading the ideology that a person is not responsible for the results of their actions and there is always an easy way out. Some of them do go on to eventually have kids. Don’t have kids with a women who thinks like them, I’m sorry to say. They hurt the fathers later and only see their own life as worthy of making considerations. All I wanted was to raise my kids right but women like these act without logic and cause problems, maybe, from my limited experience. People like these are also susceptible to wanting to indoctrinate their own kids with un-examined ideologies that are about group think and loss of family strength and autonomy and unity. These kinds of women can become a physical trap where you a trapped between doing what is best for your child and what you are allowed to do based on what the government is telling them is the latest thing to think.

The Democrats must be thrilled at the Supreme Court at the moment. They were set to lose much at the next election due to inflation, gas prices, city crime, etc. Then along comes the Supreme Court to eliminate a legal right and Trump crows about successfully fulfilling his campaign promises and many States legislaters get caught being responsible for abortion laws they passed to restrict abortion only with the expectation it would never happen. Talk about changing the odds in one fell swoop. Suddenly from whiny sure losers, the Democrats get on the right of a popular issue. Way to go, Supreme Court.

Don’t be silly. That misses the point that it is not personal. Most who has a differing opinion with the current direction of Democrat politics must be appalled. The Supreme Court has just changed the team members. Now people who might have found some common ground with conservatives have to decide how important all those other issues are in the face of finding themselves aligned with anti abortionists. It was hard enough for most people finding enough common ground with a party filled with anti vaxxers and conspiracists and gun clingers. Too bad, so sad but the line has been drawn to the right of most Americans and they de facto find themselves aligned with Democrats.

Texas already had the most restrictive abortion laws in the U.S. — and they just got tougher. On Wednesday, a new law took effect that adds penalties of jail time and a fine of up to $10,000 for anyone who prescribes pills for medication abortions through telehealth or the mail.
And I am sure other states are working on similar laws..

What nonsense. “In the past, virtually universal access to contraception and abortion for its citizens by a national government service was a common way for China to contain its population in accordance with its now-defunct one-child policy.[11] It was scaled back when the policy was removed in 2015 in favor of a two-child policy and in turn was replaced by a three-child policy.[12]” China treats women as baby factories- encouraging abortion when the Party worried about overpopulation, banning it when the population retracted. Allat the whim of the Communist Party. So now it is to be at the whim of the State in the US as if the women’s uteruses here have become owned by the State and not the women at all. Congratulations on the political alignment with the PRC.

Don’t kid yourself, and if you have daughters, you should care. Or granddaughters. They should have a right to terminate what might be causing them harm.(look up ectopic pregnancy)

And for the love of biology, please read up on ectopic pregnancies. also, on when and where a fetus starts to actually feel pain. No one is just doing abortions, at a viable age, for no real reason.

Late term abortion stories are propaganda. Okay, I mean the ones that are supposedly done at the whim of the woman. When they truly do happen, it’s for serious reasons. You KNOW THAT.

WASHINGTON, June 25 (Reuters) – President Joe Biden’s administration indicated it will seek to prevent states from banning a pill used for medication abortion in light of the Supreme Court ruling overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, signaling a major new legal fight.

The administration could argue in court that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of mifepristone, one of the pills used for medication abortions, pre-empts state restrictions, meaning federal authority outweighs any state action

Yes, the FDA has approved it, but someone has to prescribe it. And the user needs to seek a prescription for it.

So many hurdles to jump through and Merrick Garland is saying that …”the states can’t do this and the states can’t do that…blah blah blah…DOJ says…derp derp derp…”

Roe vs Wade decision……..
The decision is not legally legitimate. It is part of a far-right political conspiracy. It is the latest in a long train of reactionary decisions legitimizing state surveillance, police violence, mass deportations and corporate domination of the electoral system. It was issued by a court that does not constitute a democratic branch of government but a battering ram for medieval clericalism and bigotry.

The court is now dominated by fascistic ideologues. Three of the justices voting with the majority in Dobbs (Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett) were appointed by Donald Trump, the would-be dictator who conspired with two of the justices (Alito and Thomas) to orchestrate a coup attempt on January 6, 2021, seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election and establish a dictatorship.

Dobbs is the judicial continuation of Trump’s coup attempt. It is being wildly celebrated by the far-right across the country, which views it as a testament to their power and prospects for the future.

Go read Freakanomics or use logic.

In Chapter 4, called “Where Have All the Criminals Gone?”, Levitt expands on the crime and abortion correlation previously discussed in the book’s introduction. He starts with a case study on Romania. When Nicolae Ceausescu became the communist dictator of Romania, he made abortion illegal. The aim was to boost Romania’s population in order to strengthen the nation. Before that point, abortion rates were high in Romania, with four abortions for every live birth.

Within one year of the abortion ban, the Romanian birth rate had doubled. These children born after the abortion ban would lead especially miserable lives, less successful in school and in the workforce on average than children born before them. They were also likely to become criminals. The abortion ban continued until Ceausescu lost his grip on Romania, when in 1989 he was captured and killed by protestors largely consisting of the youth of Romania—the ones who would not have been born, had he not instated the abortion ban.

I can tell there were many deep thinkers out there at the protest when I scroll briefly through the pictures and the first one I read says ‘Don’t Like Abortions, Get A Vasectomy’. I would equate that to something like ‘Don’t Like Drunk Drivers, Go Drink Yourself to Death!”

Thanks for providing clear evidence that not everyone is a deep thinker.

I hope to have sex one day. I don’t even know what to think about this stuff that people get so worked up about. Is it really a big deal? All I see is people who must be having sex so I’m actually kind of jealous of these people that they even get to have sex. I don’t know what to think about the maybe having kids part though. That sounds like a lot to deal with. But I hear sex is awesome. Fingers crossed that my day comes. I try to practice so I’m ready if it happens.

If I hit a pedestrian with my car, should I stay and wait for the cops and face the punishment of potential manslaughter charges. No, absolutely not, especially if I’m on my way home from having an abortion. Can you imagine how traumatic it would be to go to court and potentially jail? It would be already bad enough that i’d be facing massive vehicle repair bills if I even know where to get the work done and all the inconvenience such would cause for at least a few weeks. The police need to understand that the accident was bad enough, I just can’t deal with any more than that. Sorry folks, I just can’t. RIP post man. (Sorry, I mean mail carrier, I mean postal worker, I mean nice thing who I don’t want to describe too much because it’s not nice to ‘they’.)

As someone who tries to help out by running a needle exchange program and passing out new syringes, I’m starting to think there is a need for coat hangers now. I might order some boxes and try to drive by the next protest to hand them out.
