Press release from the Trinidad Rancheria:

[Yesterday], Members of the Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria Tribal Council and staff joined together to congratulate Erica Ervin for her 40 years of service at the Tribe’s Seascape Restaurant on the Trinidad Pier at the Trinidad Harbor. Erica started working at the Seascape restaurant at the age of 14, riding her bike between home and the restaurant.

“For 40 years, Erica and her amazing attitude have brightened the Seascape restaurant,” said Grant Roden, Harbor Business Director. “In rain, in the sun, in hail – and very rarely, snow – we know she’ll be there, baking for us and making us all feel welcome and valued, whether we are local or from somewhere far away.”

Seascape Restaurant has been a favorite dining spot with travelers, fishermen and locals since the 1950’s. Seascape’s menu features a variety of sandwiches and salads, as well as the freshest seafood and some of the best clam chowder on the North Coast. The restaurant, owned and operated by the Tribe, also has delicious baked goods and desserts, which are Erica’s specialty and a draw for people all over the area. The entire family is welcome at Seascape to enjoy a comfortable, friendly and hearty meal.

“Erica has made – and continues to make – a contribution to the Trinidad community and the Tribe,” said Garth Sundberg, Tribal Chairman. “Every time I go to Seascape, I am greeted by her smile and warmth. Her friendliness and commitment to outstanding service is part of everything she does, not only at the restaurant but also in the community.”

More information on the restaurant is available at the website: http://www.seascape- trinidad.com/home.

The Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria is a Federally Recognized Tribe located near the town of Trinidad, California, organized in 1961 under the Articles of Association. In June of 2008, the Tribe approved a Constitution which supersedes the Articles of Association and its amendments. The Trinidad Rancheria is governed by the Community Council, from which is elected a Tribal Council—a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson, a Secretary-Treasurer and two Members-at-Large.

Erica is awesome. She is a key member in Westhaven ladies club who spends half the year making pies every Tuesday for the WVFD blackberry festival. Thanks Erica, no doubt the pie ladies wouldn’t exist without you or Greta.

When I was pregnant with my first son I can vividly remember she would push me to go walking on our lunch everyday… ha.. she’s 💯 was the sunshine when the sun wasn’t out!! I can’t ever remember her once being in a “bad mood” …
