Best Wishes all Angels. At age 90 my father exhibited signs of dementia, but only during his brief hospitalizations. When he was at home he was using a 1:1 whole-plant cannabis tincture and he did not shows any signs of altered cognition or confusion.

I can’t imagine a harder job in this life than having to care for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s. The US owns a patent since the 90s on cannabinoids as anti-oxidants and neuroprotectants. I wish this knowledge was more widely shared in the public space. Doctors are not taught this in their education unless they take continuing medical eduction courses on cannabis.

Family members and caregivers not considering or using cannabis-based products for Alzheimer’s or dementia should carefully study the current knowledge on phytocannabinoid-based therapies for dementia. My dad was using 7.5 mg THC/7.5 mg CBD twice a day. Researchers from USC tried to see if I could get my dad at 10 and 10 mg each but I was unsuccessful. Start low and go slow.

Just looking at the headline, why would a bunch of visiting walkers want to stop a pizza fundraiser?

Seriously though, my Gra’ma passed from Alzheimer’s and she would’ve loved that joke; she was a fan of word play. She made the best English muffin pizzas too. Seeing her near the end was rough though; a time I wish I could forget.
