LEO and Prosecutors Come Together in Letter to Editor in Support of Kamada

DA candidate Adrian Kamada in grey suit jacket over white button up shirt, black pants, hands in his pocket in front of Eureka Bay at sunsetDear Editor:
We are law enforcement officers and prosecutors. We each write in our independent, personal capacity. Some of us are liberal; some of us are conservative. We are united in our support of Adrian Kamada for District Attorney.

Our criminal justice system is designed to find the truth, and the District Attorney’s office must lead the way.

Finding the truth requires fearless communication with law enforcement agencies.

Finding the truth requires that the District Attorney supports his or her deputies. This does not mean that deputies should be free to handle their cases in any manner they see fit. But they should be able to exercise independent judgment, and to seek guidance, without fear of reprisal.

Finding the truth requires that evidence, unfavorable and favorable, be disclosed promptly to defense counsel.

Finding the truth requires clear policies for handling sensitive information.

Finding the truth requires listening to various ideas. Sometimes, finding the truth requires making decisions that the public dislikes.

Finding the truth is necessary to protect public safety. Without the truth, people who present a danger to the community will not face meaningful consequences.

The search for truth demands conviction and courage from the elected District Attorney. Mr. Kamada has these qualities. We believe in Mr. Kamada’s character and his commitment to finding the truth.
We urge the voters of Humboldt County to vote for Adrian Kamada.

I respect every single name on that list. And I respect their position.

At one point (before my DUI Jan. 13, 2019), I considered running for DA. I remember specifically being angry with Maggie Fleming’s policies and voicing those to former DDA Brie Bennett on a plane trip we were taking to see our respective LA beaus.

Brie, do you remember my passion on that fun flight?

But things have moved on from there and Maggie is NOT running.

I wish all the things about Kamada above were true. I know that so many of them are. He is very bright and very innovative. BUT, he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. He simple does not have the requisite experience or demeanor. The DA’s office controls a large budget. We can’t have someone bending the rules to help themselves as he did in 2006 at George Peterson’s insurance.

This fraud, combined with his unbridled anger when anyone dares to come in his way, makes him a non-candidate. A complete non-starter. If you could see his half truths and outright lies on stage as he debates…If you knew, you would not have signed your name to this list. Brie, you were and still are, my favorite former deputy district attorney of Humboldt County.

Stacey is a hard line career prosecutor, but she has the integrity, ability, and experience. She also listens, learns, and implements. Our First Lady DA did not always do that…thus the backlash. In the last 15 years, that is all I have seen Stacey do! She takes everything I say and synthesizes it into a fair deal for my client AND the victim.

Brie, Jane, Martin, Marvin, Tom, Josh, Shane, Colton, Chad, Alan, Joey, etc….Your names on this list does not affect my opinion of you one bit. You are all aces with me.

I was a juror on people versus Cofield in 2020. The jury all felt unanimous that the deputy DA on the case was the biggest criminal in the courtroom, which means we only had one credible witness to use. I have been guarded in trusting prosecutors every since. Attorneys lying in court is a given on both sides. I guess it boils down to whose lies to believe.

My apologies. I couldn’t remember the name of the slimy prosecutor. The defence attorney was Omar Abicura. (not sure the spelling of the last name is right after 22 years)

This campaign didn’t have to be ugly. I thought you ran for this office a race or two ago? Why do you initiate so many smears and lies? Adrian has many endorsements and organizations who do believe in him. Your negative style and behavior is wearing thin. I’m surprised the Eads team puts up with it.

I see that that owners of the insurance company you mention are on Adrian’s endorsement list.

There are currently tales far and wide of some sort of drunken street theater being out on at a local golf tournament recently?

It’s about time Seeking the truth will be something new for the DA but that ark is supposed to bend towards justice

I thought Kamada’s performance on KEET’s candidate forums was atrocious. Okay, so he was nervous. But he couldn’t answer a question without invoking his catch phrases, if he answered the questions at all. Stacey handled a case for a close family member who was abused. Stacey worked with the family every step of the way and honored the input from the victim. She’s my gal. Let’s hope there’s something she can do about the revolving door of repeat offenders being let out over and over again.

Ha! A memorized attack script. If you have been watching from the start, all Eads has are catch phrases and years of experience being a puppet.

You’re writing about the “finding the truth” but lack the character and integrity to follow your own standards. What hypocrites.
1. “Finding the truth requires clear policies for handling sensitive information”.
(Kamada violated office policy that got him fired in the Ryan Tanner case.)
2. “Without the truth, people who present a danger to the community will not face meaningful consequences”.
(Kamada committed Insurance fraud, a major crime.)
3. “search for truth demands conviction and courage”
(Kamada is guilty of blatant untruth/Gaslighting – Accusing others of lying when they are speaking facts such as his prosecution rate for example.)

We should all be held to the same standards; judges and DAs should actually be held to higher standards as these are the people making moral decisions for others and that code of ethics needs to start with themselves. I am so fed up with the double standards, bending the rules, and abuse of power by individuals who took an oath to uphold a specific code of conduct… Gregory Elvine Kreis being the most dishonorable and disgraceful of the bunch. Go good guys.

I don’t pretend to know a lot about the tanner case other than what I’ve read in the various opposing media positions. I find it interesting Tanners defense attorney endorsed Eads. If that doesn’t seem to imply something I don’t know what does.

Please answer this question for us. It’s the main concern of 90% of Humboldt County and is consistently never talked about. Who will stop the revolving door of repeat armed drug dealers, home invaders and violent criminals that run free now. Mendocino consistently seems to hold people longer charge higher, have higher bails. We don’t care about political smooth talk. We want these scumbags held for more than 2 hours after their 3 arrest while out on bail for possession of guns, drugs, stolen property, home invasion, burglaries. It seems like car theft is easier than calling a taxi for these people. Again, Which Candidate will Protect the People?

Kamada! He isn’t afraid to call out bullshit! Did you know there isn’t a policy to protect whistleblowers in the DA office? So if you call someone out, you get fired. And guess who is right??? just wait and see!
