Arcata’s Rental Assistance Program is Now Accepting New Applicants

The City of Arcata’s Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program will be accepting new applicants for the program’s waitlist beginning Monday, May 16 at 9 a.m.
The Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program is designed to assist low-income households with rent payments in the City of Arcata. This Program also offers assistance covering the cost of security deposits and utility deposits. Once an applicant is approved, rental assistance is provided for one year and may be renewed depending on funding availability.
To qualify for the program, applicants must earn less than 60% of Humboldt County’s median income and provide all required documentation included in the application process. Priority will be given to seniors
, age 55 and older, who currently reside in Arcata in addition to unhoused families and individuals.
To be added to the program’s waitlist, applicants must submit a pre-application, available online at cityofarcata.org/769/Tenant-Based-Rental-Assistance or at the Community Development Department counter in City Hall at 736 F St. Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, May 31 at 5 p.m.

I just heard about this. I try to keep up with news but now the deadline passed. I’ve been waiting over 2 years for a housing voucher. Next rent increase I will be homeless. I am disabled. Wonder is they will consider an extension on my application.
