1939 to December 16th, 2021

Richard Lynn Mantooth passed away December 16, 2021 from complications with radiation for throat cancer.

He is survived by his daughter,  Lynnett Mantooth Pray, his wife Cleo Mantooth, step daughters Jackie Inman, Maryanna Reynolds and his ex wife, Leah Mantooth.   Also his only brother’s children,  Rob, Dave, Kevin and Genevie Mantooth.
Lynn was an avid fisherman and many came from all over US to fish with him.  He knew all the good fishing spots.  He played baseball  in high-school and like everything he did excelled. He was on the pro bowlers circuit at one point.   He taught many of the kids in Garberville to bowl.  He was also an amazing golfer and gave lessons to many up until the time he got sick.
He was am amazing man and a good friend to all he met.  He will be greatly missed.
He asked that his ashes be spread at the mouth of the Mattole river.  There will be no services.    We will be spreading ashes in the spring.

That is a very nice obituary, and very to the point. I hope (I’m sure we all do) to be remembered as kindly. Best wishes to his family.
