Press release from the local Alzheimer’s Association:

Lynn McKenna, Advocacy Chair for the local Alzheimer’s Association recently met with John Driscoll from Congressman Jarred Huffman’s local office to discuss pending legislation and thank him and the Congressman for their ongoing support. The Congressman has agreed to co-sponosr an important bill that support the Alzheimer’s movement.

The ENACT Act would increase the participation of underserved populations in clinical trails. Blacks and older Hispanic Americans are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer’s, but these two groups have very minimal participation in clinical trails.

A third bill, the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Act would help provide relief and critical training to Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers. In 2020, friends and family provided unpaid dementia care valued at $257 billion. Community Health Centers, Senior Centers and state agencies would be eligible to receive grants. 10% of funding would go directly to those serving caregivers in medically underserved communities. If you know anyone suffering from any form of dementia, please contact Kim Coelho, Community Engagement Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association at 707-407-8826. There are resources and help available locally.

I know somebody suffering from dementia and it’s President Biden. Perhaps Huffman will get him some help, as his condition is being ignored…It’s time to enact the 25th Amendment, as Biden is obvious and severely incapacitated and unable to lead our nation, in such demanding and dangerous times.
