Press release from Senator Mike McGuire’s office:

Today, Senator Mike McGuire (D-North Coast) was named Majority Leader of the California State Senate by Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins. This makes Senator McGuire the second highest ranking member of the State Senate and he will be working with the Senate President to lead the Senate in the months and years to come.

“With bold leadership along with the ingenuity and hard work Californians are known for, the Golden State is poised to emerge from this pandemic stronger. That’s why I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with our exceptional Senate leader, Pro Tem Toni Atkins. With Senator Atkins in the lead, we’re bringing forward one of America’s strongest climate action plans, building more affordable housing, increasing our wildfire resilience and advancing solutions to the homelessness crisis – and that’s just the beginning. Yes, we’re living in challenging times, but I’m more energized than ever to work with Pro Tem Atkins and the State Senate to ensure our best days are still ahead,” Senator McGuire said.

For the last three years, Senator McGuire has served as Assistant Majority Leader.

“I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve in this new role. And, my top priority will always be the North Coast. We have been through so much together over the last several years – multiple wildfires, floods, extreme drought and this pandemic. Even through our darkest days, we never gave up and we never gave in. Together, we will never quit fighting for the future of the North Coast and the Golden State,” Senator McGuire said.

Bwaaah. I’m not Conservative or Liberal but this guy is a effin’ tool. I’ve had interactions with him. and he’s as spineless and wavering as they come. Appropriate for today’s political ‘scene’.

OMG, one of the least intelligent and most mediocre aspiring Governors in history…

McGuire: do they come any less apt or with less promise?

I’m underwhelmed, unimpressed, and shudder for the thought of the future in California…

He is incredibly handsome, though his eyes seem set a tad too close together.
I’ll vote for anybody who reminds me of the Bash Brothers back in the good old days

Democrats have been failing California for years. They will likely continue to fail. Yet, even with an unmatched record of failure they keep getting elected. With extremely poor quality leadership, California is unlikely to change for the better any time soon. Our leaders keep letting criminals go, keep inviting transient druggies to come here and welcome illegal immigrants. They keep passing legislation to provide medical coverage, cash benefits, food benefits, shelter benefits and anything else these people don’t deserve because they don’t work for it. When will California wake up and crack down on the idiocracy? Likely never.

The only possible way to make the changes you mentioned, along with enforcement of our laws, to clean up the chaos and violence in our streets is to vote republican across the board, in the 2022 and 2024 elections…

McGuire looks like the poster child for all that is wrong with California. Mike always acts like he is doing something but causes more problems than he solves.
He’s aiming for Govenor.

Yes, he is very good in my opinion. It’s very difficult to please such a large constituency. I don’t get all the acrimony. His recent food drive involving high school students was a wonderful way to encourage our youth to think of others. He was not overjoyed with cannabis, but he is trying to help the current disaster. I am planning to contact him with complaints about the calif. DOJ. We’ll see if I still feel this way afterward.

Drinking Trump piss? That’s original… Democrats and their liberal policies have destroyed California over the past 50+ years…

A leader for the majority party working to lead Kalifornistan to third world status. Just wait until these ass-hats pass single payer health care. Taxes are going to double and higher earners are going to leave the state faster than they already are.

Yes, it would be nice to join the rest of the civilized world and eliminate medical bankruptcy. Single payer night be tough on “middle men” insurance companies but employees will find other jobs in today’s market and won’t have to worry about losing their health insurance.

The bill includes free care for illegals. Health care will deteriorate even more if this bill is passed and taxes will soar to pay for it. There isn’t enough medical infrastructure to accomodate it and it will further destroy private medical practice.

Have you heard of Obamacare? Just wondering, because anyone can get health insurance. So why does California need to have another system of health jnsurance? BTW health care is not a right, it is a service which Americans pay for. Nobody rides for free, although everyone knows, hospitals will not turn anyone away and are funded to cover the uninsured. Additionally, ya want to fund the entire worlds health insurance in California, pony up the dough, your money, not mine, put your money where your mouth is. What is with liberals never wanting to spend their own money on their brilliant ideas, they always want everyone to join them, against their will if necessary. I despise Ticks.

Ranking Senator Mike McGuire, can you confirm or deny that this is in fact your Northern District State Employee Robert Christensen? Naked no less and being apprehended by the City of Eureka Police Department after breaking and entering in the home of a local Eureka constituent ? A simply yes or no will suffice Senator.

Good thing big cannabis money can buy someone so pretty to shove through necessary legislation for his and their own personal gains. Maybe someday we (the community at large) will have enough dough to put someone w our own interests in office.?.?.?.?.. most likely not.
