Press release from Providence:

At Providence, safety will always be our priority for our patients, our caregivers and visitors. Due to the high transmissibility of the Omicron variant and increased disruption to hospital staffing, Providence is reminding the public that emergency departments are NOT Covid-19 testing or vaccination sites.

Information about testing sites can be found at Testing – Coronavirus COVID-19 Response (ca.gov) and vaccines are readily available at local pharmacies. For patients needing emergency care, please continue to access our emergency departments to meet your emergency care needs.

Majority of people who become sick with COVID-19 will only experience mild illness and can recover at home similar to the common cold. Symptoms might last a few days, and people who have the virus might feel better in about a week. Treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms and includes rest, fluid intake and pain relievers. Get plenty of rest and stay well hydrated. Fever and diarrhea can lead to significant dehydration, which can make you feel worse. Keep a big bottle of water by your bed and drink from it frequently. Broth soups, tea with honey, and fruit juice are also good choices. You should be urinating at least every four to five hours. Severe dehydration is one reason patients are hospitalized with COVID-19, because the body becomes too weak to fight off the infection.

Yes. Dehydration. And not being vaccinated. Common cold? No.

Got this covid bs, after a short fever, little sniffle. My old unvaxxed arse calls it the flu, what a lamedemic. If you panicked and got tested for this lamedemic voluntarily, we in trouble. The vaccine sure did stop the spread, stop the flu, you people crack me up.

What is this, captain obvious day? Who goes to the E.R. for covid testing or vaccines? Who doesn’t know to drink water when you’re sick?

That’s a concept, stay home if your sick , quit running around trying to get tested. Panicked people make poor decisions, 70 percent of America is panicked over the flu.

And don’t even think about scheduling elective cancer surgery.

First they tried to sell off “Queen of the Valley”, “St Joseph’s”, “Redwood” and “Petaluma” to Adventist Health, and now, they had to grab up Healdsburg, saving it from the grasp of Adventist Health, which the Healdsburg locals just couldn’t suffer…

And today, we get this:

“Don’t come here for common services, or because you think you might be sick, or because somebody told you that frequent testing of asymptomatic people will somehow protect you from the rampaging COVID variant-of-the-week…”

It was Jerold Phelps Hospital (you call that a hospital?) that, early in the whole damn mess, said: “Don’t come here, go somewhere else!”…

It’s good to see that the same hospitals that were laying off staff, early in the game, now suddenly can’t cope with the influx of patients…

Providence would rather hire “travelers” anyway, and the salaries they offer regular employees are sufficient to explain the employee shortages they find themselves suffering from….

Ridiculous low pay and a surfeit of really poor-quality HR staff, Admin, and some of the worst physical plants in the industry make health-care jobs in Humboldt, Mendo and Sonoma Counties a total non-starter… That’s without even mentioning the expensive and often non-existent housing…

Take my word for it, when they pay $120/hour for a “traveler” but offer a “1996” salary for a regular employee, this stuff is not gonna improve.

My advice: Don’t go near St Joe’s, Redwood, Howard, Mendo Coast, MVH, OR Healdsburg, just keep cruising until you get to San Francisco, where you can REALLY wait in line for the test you now think you need because you failed to get vaccinated when you had the chance…

Sutter Santa Rosa. Or somewhere South. Alta Bates. UCDMC.

Or just stay home.

Good luck, there in “Medicaid County”…

Morning VMG. Hope all is well with you and yours.

The link to Washington University at St Louis is interesting. The title of the article says problematic marijuana use is CORRELATED with poorer COVID-19 outcomes.

As someone with a science degree you’re aware that correlation is NOT causation.

“…More work is needed to determine IF there is direct causation.”

“…Problematic cannabis use MAY contribute to severe COVID-19 presentations.”

“…Reducing and/or stopping cannabis use MAY protect against severe COVID-19 reactions.”

Not saying this is propaganda, but it’s short on conclusive evidence. Thoughts?

It’s propaganda. The only drug that’s acceptable to put into your body is a vaccine. Lots of them.

I wonder if It’s going to be like the Jaws movies, or Rocky. Booster #147 or we will tax you or fire or jail you. No house loans without booster. No voting (only illegals can vote, unvaccinated). No going in stores. No marriage license without jabs. It’s all about control, people. You now need the government to stay alive. It’s like in the movie 6th day, you play nice, they keep cloning you. If not, you are off the Team. Adios.

Well I don’t smoke weed, and I haven’t gotten COVID, following 3 vaccinations, daily vitamin D doses, and mostly, sheltering in place for 2 years.

We could say that all these factors are correlated with improved outcomes in 69 year old males…

Say what you like, everyone else is… Like all that crap about Ivermectin!

I am tired of COVID, so just get vaccinated.

Modoc County has an uptake rate of 42%, after a year…

At this rate, I will have to read garbage about COVID forever!

One hopes for an overall reimaging and rebuilding of the American Healthcare System, but in 50 years, I expect you will only see an actual provider person once you have been screened by technicians, assistants, scribes and software systems…

For these hospitals to whine about users, is comic, and having corporations run hospitals has been disastrous for quality of care.

In the future, the problem will be that nobody will want to be a Doctor at all, except foreigners, which is pretty much what we have now…

Thanks for posting this.

I endorse this item, and, the chemicals isolated from hemp were a good find.

Vitamin D works also, by occupying the site in the DNA where respiratory viruses might attach.

We have to find new medicines, and the new medicines may have other applications, such as the mRNA Anti Breast CA vaccine, now being tested…

But……………you will still to wait hours and hours to be seen at St Joe’s ER. I wonder how many people have starved to death waiting to be seen?

I dunno. I was thrown out of there a couple years ago for being too sick to sit up. Ponder on that for a while.

The hospitals are LOVING anyone coming in even mentioning COVID. If they test you at the hospital, they charge Medicare (mandatory payment) $19,000. Believe me, the hospitals are reaping covid profits galore. If you need oxygen, $59,000. Yep. Check it out your Medicare is being billed $19,000 for your covid test (at the hospital). This is a contractual agreement. No wonder why my Medicare went from $105 to $170 overnight.

Remember:

They can charge anything they want, but Medicare only pays a “contract” amount…

We used to charge $30 for a “Blood Count”, and Medicare paid $6.53… The rest is a “write off”, which is why we paid no Income Taxes for 38 years…

Our brilliant government has put all small operators out of business, so that immense corporations can “write off” their obscene profits while they take over entire industries… Single users find that services are inaccessible or incredibly expensive, and the corporations now will tell you to “fuck off” with your little problems, just as Providence has done, here…

Marijuana Farmers are now experiencing the globalization and incorporation of their businesses, and the freezing out of small producers through simple economics and over-regulation…

Welcome to America, where the wealthy get everything, and the rest will work entire lifetimes for very little…

The best thing you can do is what Dr Newdow did, be an ER Doc at $10,000/week, and become an Attorney too, so that you can file lawsuits over any issue you don’t agree with…

Not a Doctor AND an Attorney? Bad planning. Start over…

[edit] We understand…… FYI – Medicare’s Contracted amount for a covid test at any hospital is $19,000 – that’s what our government agreed to with Medicare and what is paid by Medicare to any hospital in the U.S..

More drug injections is your answer. Yet the average idiot walks into a store with a .10c piece of cloth hanging below their nose. They don’t care. That’s why it spreads. Are you still under our Government’s illusion that their injections stop the spread of the flu. That is beyond absurd and shows so little actual care.
