As winter break comes to a close, the rise in COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant is an important reminder that we need to continue to work together to do all we can to keep our schools safe. To this end, the California Department of Education is urging every eligible person to get the COVID-19 vaccine and booster. In addition, the California Department of Education is joining with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to recommend that all school children access COVID-19 testing as they return to school following the holiday break.
K-12 At Home Test Distribution
While there is no associated statewide requirement to have a documented negative test prior to returning to school, the CDE is working with CDPH to increase access to no-cost, at-home COVID-19 antigen tests by distributing kits through county offices of education.

While we know this is short notice, Southern Humboldt USD has just received COVID-19 at-home rapid test kits that are available for our students to use prior to returning to school after the winter break.
To participate, please complete the online request form at

We ask that you report a positive result to the school. If you are unable to complete the online request form, tests will still be given out to any currently enrolled student(s). NO STUDENT(S) WILL BE DENIED AT-HOME TESTS!
In addition, Southern Humboldt Unified School District will have a regular schedule for Diagnostic Testing for COVID-19 for students and staff during the coming semester. “We will start having regular testing for any students that want or whose parents want them to be tested,” Tori Miclette told us.

Somebody made a smart move getting those tests. This is what I love about small communities. Instead of complaining about the situation they went out and did something about it. Where there is a will, there is a way..

Instead of wasting resources testing everyone over and over, it would be more effective to simply require everyone to line up and get vaccinated.
Either that or we could just throw out training and competency requirements for all testing personnel, and just make all lab tests available to anyone! Anytime!
There is a reason for having Doctors and Nurses and Med Techs and X-Ray techs and Respiratory Techs… These people have educational and training requirements, and, most of them know what they are doing…
Putting testing materials into the hands of the great unwashed is just silly, and testing asymptomatic patients repeatedly is a useless and futile endeavor.
If you are sick, stay home. The schools have been opened prematurely, and large gatherings of all kinds should be prohibited until the vaccination rate is over 95%.
We can start by requiring anybody benefiting from federal or state funds to be vaccinated! If you are on SDI, AFDC, Medi-Cal, MediCare, Social Security, or PERS Pensions, you should be vaccinated as a requirement or receiving funds…
Schools should only be attended by persons who have had their vaccines, 2 initial and a booster! Otherwise, just stay at home…

I will pick up a test kit and perhaps utilze it. Though first you MUST tell ME and OTHERS, what is the FALSE POSITIVE and FALSE NEGATIVE window of variance; our government has pathetically told you to trust their injections and trust their testing. I could only do so as a scientist, if this information is released to the public. See, MIS-INFORMATION goes two ways, buddy-boy. Until I hear the truth and scientific facts, I could not trust a test nor its results, until the accurate data is released. This would of coarse include the failure rate of any test. This is done by any true scientist that looks at facts instead of FEELINGS. A computer program will be used to screen patients, in the not too distant future… The average “Family Practice” provider, these days will most likely be a person who has never seen the inside of a “Medical School”… A bit of software could do as good a job as an NP or the average PA…
Then you will be directed to go to the lab, go to the ER, or go to the CVS and pick up your “medication”, right off the shelf!
Doing lab tests at home is a form of mental onanism, and a test with an error rate of 25+% is useless, even before you open the box!
Testing for COVID has made some people rich, and some of them are con-artists who built phony laboratories and who are now charging your government for tests which are never performed at all!

COVID will likely mutate into a form less infectious, and those who refuse to be vaccinated will receive “vaccination”, through infection and recovery, or through infection and expiration…
The purpose of the vaccine is to help to reduce the hospitalization of infected people, and to give the elderly and the people with co-occuring conditions a better chance to survive the epidemic.
