Humboldt County Animal Shelter’s Annual Holiday Fundraiser

animal shelter flyerPress release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

Help support local animals in need of emergency medical care and get your holiday shopping done at the Humboldt County Animal Shelter’s Annual Holiday Fundraiser.

The fundraiser is being held on Saturday, December 11 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Animal Shelter (980 Lycoming Ave, Mckinleyville). The public is invited to join shelter staff for refreshments, a raffle and an online silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Emergency Medical Fund managed by Friends for Life Animal Rescue, which funds lifesaving medical care for rescued animals experiencing serious health issues.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, modifications have been made to keep staff and visitors safe. This year’s fundraiser will not include tours of the facility; however, adoptable cats will be on display and adoptable dogs will be shown on parade throughout the event.

Additionally, raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at the shelter from December 6-10, with the winning ticket holder not required to be present at the time of selection. Also, anyone can participate in the online silent auction by going to: https://flar.betterworld.org/.

Want to help local animals but are unable to attend this event or auction? Donations can be made year-round to the Friends for Life Emergency Medical Fund online at www.dogrescuers.org. Please specify that your donation is for “EMF” at time of submission.

The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is located at 980 Lycoming Ave. in McKinleyville. For more information about the shelter, please call 707-840-9132 or visit humboldtsheriff.org/adopt.

This is something almost anyone can get involved in, and make the New Year better for many critters who could use our help. Please support our shelter and the folks who give.
