3 New Hospitalizations, 20 New Cases Reported

Press release from Humboldt County Public Health:

Humboldt County Public Health reported today 20 new cases of COVID-19, bringing to 10,279 the total number of residents who have tested positive for the virus. Three new hospitalizations were also reported, two residents in their 40s and one aged 80 or older.

In a presentation to the Board of Supervisors this morning, Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Ian Hoffman noted that there are still no known cases of the new Omicron variant locally, but added that he “fully expects” the variant to eventually make its way to Humboldt County.

He said officials are ready for its arrival. “We will continue to monitor and do genomic sequencing and other testing that might be able to detect that variant quickly, and let the public know once we do see any evidence of that in Humboldt County.”

Public Health is continuing to request that doctors ask patients about their travel history to identify those who may have been exposed so they can be tested.

All international passengers flying into the U.S., regardless of vaccination status, are now required to show a negative test taken one day before their departure as part of stricter travel requirements put in place this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Additionally, the CDC recommends that all international travelers get a COVID-19 test three to five days after travel regardless of vaccination status. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 after travel should test immediately.

Residents who have travelled internationally in the past two weeks and test positive with at-home tests are asked to call the Joint Information Center at 1-707-441-5000 to report their results to Public Health. Those who have not travelled outside the U.S. and test positive with an at-home test for COVID-19 should notify their primary care provider, or Public Health if there is no provider, and isolate to limit the spread of disease.

Travelers leaving Humboldt County who are flying internationally should contact the airline prior to travel and stay current with their destination’s specific COVID-19 vaccination and testing requirements. Information can be found for most countries at the U.S. Department of State’s travel advisory website.

All eligible adults aged 18 and older are encouraged to get a booster. Health officials also stress that those who are partially vaccinated should complete their vaccination series. A person who is fully vaccinated is half as likely to pass on the infection as someone who is unvaccinated. According to data from the CDC, an unvaccinated person is nearly six times more likely to get COVID-19 and 14 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than a vaccinated person.

Public Health is offering family vaccination clinics throughout December to give priority to children aged 5 to 11 and provide family members a convenient way to get their vaccines.

Vaccines, including boosters, are available at local pharmacies. To check the availability of a specific vaccine, visit the vaccines.gov page, or text a ZIP code to 438829 to locate a nearby pharmacy offering vaccines.

Humboldt County’s vaccination and testing services are available free of charge. Although walk-ins are allowed at most regular Public Health clinics and many pharmacy vaccination sites, a sharp increase in demand for boosters has caused delays at some locations. As a result, appointments are required for pediatric clinics and for clinics at Public Health’s main office. Appointments are strongly recommended for all other clinics and are the best way to ensure a shot is available during your visit. Appointments can be made at MyTurn.ca.gov.

See the schedule below for specific Public Health vaccination and testing clinic dates, times, locations and available services:

Groundhog Tuesday…

Question for Groundhog Thursday, why are Biden, Dems, LSM, and Pubes all beating drums and sabre rattling – even threatening use of nuclear weapons – all over Ukraine? Warmongering Deep State mfers! Ukraine joining NATO is as threatening to Russia as Mexico becoming a Russian satellite nation chock full of tanks and missiles on the border of the US.

Ukraine should not be allowed to join NATO per the original agreement however, the US should hold good on its word to give them missle defense systems we promised if they dismantled many of their nuclear arsenal (which they did) and Obama refused to provide. Ukraine is in a bad position and the US is definitely partially at fault.

The wife and I were both getting earthquake vibes today.

I didn’t mention mine to her until after you brought it up, and then she said she thought the house moved a little and creaked at some point today.

I thought that I felt a little movement also.

Luckily, the area I’m generally in is very stable. No damage in ’92.

For one of the ’92 quakes I was in the Lassics bow hunting, and you could see that quake coming.

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports, and omit information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy.

-Media Bias

Of course someone who uses untrustworthy websites regularly will be rooting for someone like not-so-Dr-Oz.

Nothing surprising there. At all.

Orgin of word corona.

It’s a long read best information is near the bottom. Beyond Omicron: what’s next for COVID’s viral evolution. To predict what these outbreaks will look like, scientists are investigating how quickly a population becomes newly susceptible to infection, says Kucharski, and whether that happens mostly though viral evolution, waning immune responses, or the birth of new children without immunity to the virus. “My feeling is that small changes that open up a certain fraction of the previously exposed population to reinfection may be the most likely evolutionary trajectory,” says Rambaut.

A booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine appears to provide strong protection against the omicron variant, the companies announced Wednesday.
They said lab study results show a third dose of their vaccine provides a similar level of neutralizing antibodies to omicron, comparable to two doses against the original coronavirus and other variants that have emerged.

To be fair the above study has not been peer reviewed. Dr. Dolsten estimated there is a greater than 50% chance that Omicron becomes the dominant strain spreading in the U.S. by the spring, though it is too soon to know with certainty, he said.

I wonder if an infection from this variant will convey much immunity to other ones. Or even itself since it has increased the reinfection rate with people who had recovered from a prior covid bout. If it does, that would be good thing.

LOL! That is a good one! Not sure how anyone could reasonably justify the stance that Biden is a worse president than the guy who literally attempted a coup. Not to mention the obstruction of justice, bribery, conspiracy to defraud the US, etc. Yeah, Biden’s approval rating is in the toilet, but at least he isn’t actively trying to subvert our democracy… I think that still means something to most Americans (and other democratic nations around the world).

Are you not aware that “coup d’etat” is commonly shortened to “coup”? Perhaps it is you who needs to reference a dictionary…

coup – (also coup d’état) a sudden, illegal, and often violent change of government.

literally – in a literal way
literal- [usually before noun] being the most basic meaning of a word or phrase, rather than an extended or poetic meaning.

Hope that helps you.

VAERS in itself is not a confirmational device, so what you’re posting is quite literally impossible.

I’ll explain it like this;

If I accuse you of being a pedophile, that’s VAERS (reported not confirmed).

If you are confirmed to be a pedophile, that will not be done by VAERS, but by evidence and officials.

Get the difference?

So….. if you are ok with a society of accusations without evidence, let me tell everyone now, that you are pedophile.

Or should it be taken just as damn seriously as the other 12,000 claims, and then quite thoroughly and properly investigated?

What percentage of those claims would you say have been properly and thoroughly investigated?

No. I’ve said it before but what makes an anti vaxxer is propagating wrong, misleading information or innuendo to turn people away from life saving vaccination. Not personal choice. It is the person who totally ignores the most obvious good vaccination does, including covid vaccines, and endlessly repeats what is in essence gossip to make people afraid of them. The “reasons” given are mostly lies repeated or linking from anti vaxx sites. All these sites obsess over the same misinterpretation. It not like they come up with independent ideas- they just repeat the same flawed self justifications like a herd of buffalo running towards the same cliff. It bears no relation to what can be seen.

What is funny is that, while announcing they are not anti vaxxers, they never find that there is any good to be said about them. The illogic is they use would strain a two years old’s credibility. Talk about absolutism- an anti vaxxer never thinks (or at least says) that a very old person who dies after a vaccination didn’t die of anything else but , if they died of covid, it was just because they were old. Or, if some official stat says that the unvaccinated die at a much greater rate, they are lying. Or they go on and on about pharmaceutical manufacturer’s profits (as if making a profit is equivalent to making a bad product) yet go on about and immediately latch onto some drug from the same people that generates much larger profit as an alternative to vaccination. There is zero nuance. And less understanding of statistics. And absolute self centeredness. They refuse to listen to advice from professionals about vaccination yet get their shorts in a knot if it even mentioned that they should be equally self reliant when they get sick. They never express the least concern for those they persuade to refuse vaccination when they get sick. So yes, that makes an anti vaxxers. At least it makes the ones who comment here.

This is some pretty disturbing data-

“Unaccompanied Children-

Encounters of unaccompanied children decreased 1 percent, with 18,847 encounters in August compared with 18,958 in July. In August, the average number of unaccompanied children in CBP custody was 1,435 per day, compared with an average of 1,353 per day in July.”

https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/national-media-release/cbp-releases-august-2021-operational-update?_ga=2.124482446.565315344.1633914585-22927157.1633811339

“ According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data, record numbers of unaccompanied minors have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally in 2021. In August alone, some 18,847 children arrived. Many traveled not with parents or family members, but with human smugglers. The illicit smuggling industry is booming thanks to social media and relaxed border enforcement.

For minors, the real peril begins after entering the United States. One expert estimates 60% of the Latin American children sent across the border alone or with smugglers have been taken by the cartels. What frequently follows is horrific abuse in the form of child pornography or drug trafficking. Most instances of trafficking occur after a migrant has been relocated, when promises of a better life are shattered and many are sold as sex workers or slave laborers. The problem exists not in border towns alone. It has spread deep within the U.S. — in big cities, suburban neighborhoods, and rural communities.

Current U.S. immigration policy puts pressure on Border Patrol agents to release migrants within 72 hours of coming into the U.S. That means little vetting is taking place, and current measures to protect minors are insufficient. With scores of young people traveling without parents, many are released to unsavory circumstances. Once children leave their country of origin, they are at the mercy of their custodial guardian. Unfortunately, this is often a trafficker.”

As usual you have spoken much and said little. Admitting that VAERS logs death reports but can’t confirm the deaths are due to the vaccines is just proof that CDC/NIH is incompetent and not doing their job. Furthermore, only an imbecile could look at the fact that the vast majority of DEATH AND MAIMING come within 48 hours of the shot and conclude that the vaccines are not responsible. Faucci and the covid cult are the blind leading the blind.
