Wonder if this is a fairly recent image, or has her appearance changed radically like we’ve seen in some other missing cases?

I looked up stats on runaway kids and found this fascinating article:

https://www.youthservicessystem.org/about-youth-services-system/runaway-homeless-youth-statistics/192

This article has tons of interesting facts and sources about runaways but one fact that surprised me was that 60% to 90% of them have ADHD.

Her mom is a friend of a friend of a friend and seems to be a pretty nice person. My understanding is that Elijah has some mental health issues and that’s why she has run away. Of course who knows what happens behind closed doors, or what happened in the past, but it seems like she has a good mom. It’s so damn hard here with the lack of mental health care for anyone, but especially children and teens.

Sex trafficking is rampant too. I hope someone didn’t pick her up, or take her against her will, or lured her.

The EPD sure waited a long time to ask for the public’s help in locating her. I pray she will be found safe and will be returned home before Christmas. That would make a wonderful gift for her family.

This young lady could be miles and miles from here. Hopefully, a nation wide alert was sent out. There have been others. Word of mouth tells of others who have not reported to authorities have run away. The reasons are many. Usually a male and usually an older one is involved. Not only here, but all over this crazy county. Especially the Southern States. Where groups like the Proud Boys are predators of young females who tend to be impressionable. One has to wonder about Trump! My youngest sister ran off with a military guy and didn’t contact us for over two years. By then she had a baby and the guy had abandoned her. My brother had to go and retrieve her and the baby from Georgia. He and my sister-in-law ended up raising my sister and her baby for over ten years. I personally blame my parents who were too busy with their careers to be role models for my sister. To help my brother and sister-in-law with expenses the rest of my siblings made monthly contributions to them. My parents did nothing. Sometimes brothers and sisters have to carry the load.

Tough story. You are correct in this happens too often. Your sister and brothers pulled together and did the best for her. I can’t say in my family that would happen. My father was absent and my mother was an addict. I was on the street at 17. Married a loser who got me pregnant and then he disappeared. The things I did to feed and put a roof over my head. I
am clean and sober, but now I am 42. I’m not much to look at, but I do have a decent job that pays the bills. My social life is zero and my son has become my life.

Well, looks aren’t everything. Sounds like you are a very strong person who knows what’s important in life. Glad you are close with your son!
