Rapper Berner Shares How He Almost Got Killed in Humboldt County
In an interview with The Bootleg Kev Podcast back in September, Berner, a former bud tender and middleman, now a wealthy rapper and cannapreneur shares how when he was facilitating the sale of 100 pounds of marijuana between the cultivator and a buyer in the hills of Humboldt County he almost got killed because the seller had to finish trimming his pounds to make weight.

Crazy story.
The buyer gave the grower hundreds of thousands of dollars without seeing any weed. The seller then left for about an hour. Buyer freaks out. Seller returns and claims he had to trim a few more pounds to make a 100 pack.
Sounds like maybe this guy- the broker- doesn’t know how to set up a proper deal where everybody is made comfortable and communication is clear so that trust is maintained. And…that is how people get shot!!

Then at the end he describes seeing the buyer getting busted by cops on the side of the highway south of here. The interviewer asks what eventually happened to the buyer and Berner says, “I don’t know, I never talked to him again.”
It’s just all a bunch of YouTube click at to bring more attention to his Cookies empire. Federal legalization laws don’t allow vertical integration juat like in the liquor industry. I’m sure Berner, Harborside, Headwaters, ect. will figure out a way around it.

Checkout the YouTube video I posted above. The Humboldt guy growing old school style was a great interview. The video shows the different strategies and growing styles local farmers use to compete in today’s market. The inside look at Ridgelinr was cool. Also the mendo guy with huge plants shows a completely different growing style. Obviously with Rigdelines cup winners 🏆 they are doing it best, but with cannabis there is no perfect way to grow it. Everyone adapts their own style based on geography and economics.
Cute story. He should’ve grown up and lived here his whole life , may have something worth listening to then. We’ve all almost died one way or another living here. Shit I almost died being chased down for no reason by a now respected member of the community who was out of his mind on coke back in the day.
