Trinidad Coastal Land Trust, BLM Team Up to Plant a ‘Whole Lotta’ Native Plants, Fix Up Lighthouse Ahead of 150th Anniversary Celebration

This is a press release from Trinidad Coastal Land Trust:

THANK YOU to the folks who joined TCLT & Bureau of Land Management – California up at the Trinidad Lighthouse [recently]!

We planted a whole lotta native plants – including coastal silk tassel, osoberry, ceanothus, monkey flower, ferns, wax myrtle and so much more – in the ground and cleared out invasive jubata grass and English ivy.

Volunteers TCLT Ambassadors also fixed up the lighthouse in preparation for the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the Trinidad Lighthouse coming up on December 4th.

We are soooo lucky to have the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust. Not only do they provide the Camel rock surf cam they’ve done an amazing job preserving the beauty in Trinidad. People may not know that a lot of premier Coastal land in Trinidad on Scenic Dr. Has been donated to the Land Trust. Since the parks have a low budget if it weren’t for the land trust our beautiful scenery would be filled with trash, dog poop and Tons of homeless people destroying the place. It’s cool to spend time in Trinidad if you are homeless or living in your vehicle just pick up after yourself, don’t trash the place and don’t Stay in one spot for too long. If you’re cool with the locals and are a clean, nice person you can live the van life surrounded by amazing beauty. They finally shutdown Moonstone Beach for night time camping, parking and bon fires. Unfortunately some bad characters ruined it for everyone else trying to enjoy the beach at night. Rumor is the land Trust is trying to buy the Moonstone Beach grill property that’s for sale. If you are a baller and have the dough you’d be a fool not to scoop up that property first. There is literally no other property for private sale in the state of California that has acreage with river and beach front access to the private property. The new people running the Moonstone grill are awesome! Really cool family. If you get the chance and have the dough I’d recommend checking it out for a sunset meal or some appetizers at happy hour.
