Press release from College of the Redwoods:

The public is invited to attend the US Capitol Hill Christmas Tree Event in Eureka, this Friday, October 29th, from 4:30 – 6pm, at the Madaket Plaza and it’s gravel parking lot. Come see Six Rivers National Forest’s 84-foot tall white fir tree before it makes its way on a 3,300-mile journey to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building.

The College of the Redwoods Foundation, the City of Eureka, Eureka Main Street, and Marine Toys for Tots will be hosting this event. There will be hot drinks, cookies, craft booths, mascots, the Marching Lumberjacks, and the first 300 children will receive a Halloween treat bag from the CR Foundation. Six Rivers National Forest will also have its interactive – “A Walk through the Forest” experience.

If you are in a position to give, please bring a toy for the Marine Toys for Tots program, because every child deserves a Christmas with presents. Please mask-up for this community outdoor event.

The celebration of an environmental crime. Justice for Sugar Bear!

On a separate note, Toys for Tots is an admirable cause.
