[UPDATE 5:38 p.m.] Major Traffic Backups North of the Slough Bridge in Eureka
According to Jon Beck, a local resident, this looks to be a green pickup t-boned by a hatchback.
At this point, we don’t know the extent of injuries.
But please avoid the area by taking Hwy 255 through Manilla if you are planning on heading north.

UPDATE 5:38 p.m.: According to Eureka Police, the driver of a pickup truck was trying to cross Hwy 101 at Airport Road. A Chevy Aveo headed northbound collided with the pickup.
One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation, however EPD says that DUI is not believed to be a factor.
UPDATE 6:24 p.m.: North Coast News was live on the scene about 5:00 p.m. which will give some sense of what commuters had to deal with.
Currently, traffic is moving smoothly through the area.

As long as there was likely only the one “Chevy Avail” in existence before the reported collision, perhaps we should be referring to it as the “No Avail.”
