Waves batter the South Jetty

High surf yesterday battered the North and South Jetties guarding the entrance into Humboldt Bay as well as the shore inside of the Bay in these videos by local photographer, Laurie Jensen.

These waves, while beautiful, are a reminder of how dangerous standing too close to the surf can be.

Two hikers gave up on lost coast trail midway, hiked up to rattlesnake to spend night. Said surf and swells were Amazing. They walked down to hdew and got a ride to their truck. Not a rescue or recovery. Good people making good choices. And getting treated well. Be well all
