2 Hospitalizations, 10 New Cases Reported Today

novel coronavirus Covid-19 HumboldtPress release from Humboldt County Public Health:

Humboldt County Public Health reported today the hospitalization of two residents for COVID-19, including a person in their 40s and one in their 60s. Due to a delay in the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE) system, there were 10 new antigen and no new PCR cases to report, bringing to 9,146 the total number of residents who have tested positive for the virus in the county.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted emergency use authorization to expand COVID-19 vaccine booster dose options for millions of Americans who received a vaccine other than Pfizer.

The FDA authorized a Moderna booster for seniors age 65 and older, and those age 18 and older who are at high risk for serious COVID-19 illness. The Moderna vaccine booster will be half the dose of the first two and can be administered at least six months after completing the two-dose series.

The FDA also authorized a second Johnson & Johnson dose for anyone eligible, regardless of age, at least two months after the first shot. In addition, the FDA approved a “mixing and matching” of vaccine types, allowing anyone eligible for a booster dose to receive a brand different from the one they received initially.

The advisory committee to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) met today to discuss the newly authorized COVID-19 vaccine boosters and to make recommendations for who should get them.

As of Tuesday, Humboldt County Public Health and other local vaccinators have administered a total of 157,416 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Local vaccination data has been updated on the Humboldt County Data Dashboard (humboldtgov.org/dashboard). Highlights include:

  • Since the last weekly report on Oct. 13, 1,057 vaccine doses have been administered, and 686 additional residents have completed their vaccine series.
  • A total of 78,922 residents, or just over 66% of the vaccine-eligible population age 12 and older, are fully vaccinated.
  • Nearly 73% of the vaccine-eligible population has received at least one dose.

Residents, particularly those who are unvaccinated, are advised to get tested if they are experiencing symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for the virus. Testing is available through OptumServe seven days a week at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka and at mobile sites throughout the county most weekdays. For more information about testing, go to humboldtgov.org/covidtestregistration.

Due to the increasing use of at-home tests for COVID-19, Public Health recommends residents report positive test results so transmission of the virus in the community can be better identified and people can be connected with needed resources.

Those with a positive at-home test for COVID-19 should isolate and notify their close contacts to limit the spread of disease. False positive test results are unlikely when an antigen test is used according to the manufacturer’s instructions, according to the CDC’s antigen testing guidance page. Public Health officials stress that positive at-home test results should be reported to a health care provider or to Public Health if there is no provider.

Individuals who require documentation of test results for employment or travel may get PCR testing through Public Health or their health care providers. PCR follow-up testing for an at-home rapid test is most accurate 24 to 48 hours after an initial at-home positive test. For more information, visit the Humboldt County Home-Testing FAQ, or call the Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000.

Public Health will offer PCR testing at the Fortuna River Lodge site on Friday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Pre-registration is required. To sign up, visit the Color test registration page.

In a White House press briefing yesterday, officials discussed a plan to ensure that vaccines for children ages 5 through 11 are available, easy and convenient. The proposed plan includes administering vaccines through trusted providers such as pediatricians, family doctors, primary care providers and rural health centers.

Pediatric doses of the vaccine are expected to be 10 micrograms, a third of the size of the dose authorized for those ages 12 and older, and administered using smaller needles, according to Pfizer’s recent application to the FDA for emergency use authorization. The FDA’s advisory committee will meet Tuesday, Oct. 26, to discuss.

The county’s vaccination and testing services are available free of charge. Residents who receive their first or second dose of vaccine at a Public Health office in Eureka, Willow Creek or Garberville can choose a $25 Renner Petroleum or Coming Attractions Theatres gift card. Incentives are offered on a first-come, first-served basis at those locations only.

Appointments for Public Health vaccination clinics are not required but are recommended due to an increase in demand for additional doses and boosters. Sign up in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov. For instructions in English and Spanish on how to use My Turn, go to humboldtgov.org/VaccineInfo.

. Hope every one of those home test people really do isolate and inform contacts. Also the dashboard showed a 11.23 positivity rate (over the past week)

Good advice. Thanks for the positivity update. Unfortunately it looks like it’s increasing.

Not sure what they mean by this. Is data missing? Due to a delay in the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE) system, there were 10 new antigen and no new PCR cases to report

Copy.
That probably means the case count was higher.

Darn it. I guess I should have read the fine print before I got my hopes up…

Did you see where,

” NIH acknowledges US funded gain-of-function at Wuhan lab, despite Fauci denials”,
on ‘Fox News’?

Or in other words, from
‘Yahoo News’…

“NIH admits to Funding Gain of Function Research in Wuhan, Says Eco Health Alliance Violated Reporting Requirements” ?

Personally, I think that they are overlooking a connection to The Wuhan Center For Animal Experimentation, which is actually not that far away from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“Before the pandemic, Taj Pharmaceuticals Ltd. shipped negligible amounts of ivermectin to Russia for veterinary use. But over the past year it’s become a popular product for the Indian generic drug maker: Since July 2020, Taj Pharma has sold $5 million worth of the pills for human use in India and overseas. That’s a bonanza for a small family-owned company with an annual revenue of about $66 million… The company, which has eight production facilities in India, is among a raft of drugmakers—many of them in developing countries—seeking to cash in on ivermectin’s sudden popularity, unfazed by advisories from the World Health Organization and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration saying that clinical studies haven’t shown conclusive evidence of the drug’s effectiveness against coronavirus infections. Undeterred, manufacturers have sharpened their sales pitches and cranked up output.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/ivermectin-doesn-e2-80-99t-help-covid-but-generic-drug-makers-are-cashing-in/ar-AAPvcaJ?ocid=BingNewsSearch

Who are we protecting in the 5-17 age group? 700 kids at FUHS , 4 cases in a 18 months plus of in classroom. I guess this isn’t a big enough group to efox to call covid a joke for the younger generation. 0 hospitalized, 0 deaths, just a few weak arse cases , I guess them fortuna kids are immune to COVID-19, must be an anomaly efox. 700 kids mingling all day, roaming all over the place every weekend.

JERUSALEM, Oct 21 (Reuters) – The Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is highly effective at preventing infection and symptomatic disease from the Delta variant among 12- to 18-year-olds, research conducted in Israel shows.

The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, will likely provide further reassurance the shot is effective against the variant among younger people as the U.S. drug watchdog considers authorising use of the vaccine on children as young as five. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/pfizer-vaccine-very-effective-against-081632035.html

From the New England journal of medicine that the Reuters article refers to
“(Funded by Moderna and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority; Teen COVE ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04649151. opens in new tab.)”

Also the study only refers to days 7-21 after 2 nd shot

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2109522

From the same article in the introduction

“ The safety, immunogenicity, and efficacy of the mRNA-1273 vaccine in adolescents are unknown.”

Disregard the previous comment, it was from august 11.

Here is the new study:
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2114290

I encourage everyone to scroll down to the bottom and click on “disclosure forms.” Turns out that Pfizer and cdc funded this study via grants!! The very same people that shove this vax on us are the ones doing the studies!

Why are they getting grants from Pfizer for non covid??

“Additional Information: Institutional grants to Clalit Research Institute from Pfizer outside the submitted work and unrelated to COVID-19, with no direct or indirect personal benefits.”

Conflict of interest?? This study stinks to high heaven!!

“Title: Director, Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics Position Description: formally I remain a Harvard employee and hold my title at CDC through an Intergovernmental Personnel Agreeement.
Additional Information: I wrote this letter in my academic capacity and am not listing CDC as my affiliation on the letter.”

Nice try but I don’t trust a biased study

Really? You got a link showing Pfizer changed or increased its advertising based on reporting about Pfizer vaccines? That would be a real criminal liability for both Pfizer and the media. FDA fraud bad.

Or is this just another smear tactic of anti vaxxers? Link to a reputable source is needed. Reputable not being the Epoch Times or RT or some such. Since they have already been caught doing that sort of crap themselves.

The key driver for this recent rise in the price of gas is crude oil, which typically accounts for between 50% and 60% of the price at the pump,” said AAA Spokesperson Andrew Gross. “And last week’s decision by OPEC and its oil-producing allies to not increase production further only exacerbated the upward momentum for crude oil prices.” Wall Street futures traders are also a factor. Its called Capitalism=Greed. Also the U.S. is still exporting oil.
United States exports more refined petroleum products than it does crude oil. Petroleum product exports averaged 5.5 million b/d in the first half of 2021, up from 5.3 million b/d in the first half of last year.Sep 17, 2021
Petroleum products include motor gasoline.

Any market is driven by multiple factors , which makes predictions very hard. But when your fearless leader is preaching about pricing people out of fossil fuels to make his green policy work, gives petroleum sellers the upper hand no questions asked, simple. Now let’s go brandon, we can stop this virus and stop global warming, two unstoppable things, now that cracks me up.

Mixing and matching might mean J&J is about to drop out of the Covid19 vaccine business.

Lots of people will be needing an alternative, so it needs to be ok’d in advance.

Looks like they are crossing that bridge before they come to it.

I wonder when the Moderna jabs will get FDA Approval?

Obviously after everyone is vaccinated that intends to get vaccinated.

It will be a moot point.

Pfizer and its partner BioNTech say their data supports authorization of their COVID-19 vaccine in kids 5 to 11.
No new safety problems were identified in the companies’ studies. No cases of heart inflammation were observed in the main study, but only a few thousand children were included in the research, so that sort of rare problem wouldn’t necessarily be detected.

Hi Efox, this is from the study that your article refers to:

https://www.fda.gov/media/153409/download

“The size of the safety database is not large enough to detect any potential risks of myocarditis associated with vaccination. For this reason, long-term safety of the COVID-19 vaccine in participants 5 to <12 years of age will be studied in 5 post-authorization safety studies, including a 5-year follow-up study to evaluate long term sequelae of post-vaccination myocarditis/pericarditis.“

Wouldn’t it be wise to wait the 5 years in adolescents ?? I think they are jumping the gun here… what’s the rush ??

The rush is because covid-19 can cause Myocarditis in adolescents too, among other things. “The risk of myocarditis for children under 16 years is 37 times higher for those infected with COVID-19 than those who haven’t been infected with the virus, according to a new study.” https://www.aappublications.org/news/2021/08/31/covid-myocarditis-risk-children-083121

So the virus itself causes an issue. The real discussion is whether the vaccine can reduce the naturally occuring risk enough that the risk from the vaccine is much lower than not vaccinating. And waiting until those naturally occuring infections take their toll is not a reasonable idea.

From your article

“ Authors noted the study could not prove COVID-19 causes myocarditis, but the findings of a link between the two are consistent with several other studies.”

Also from the study that the article refers to:

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7035e5.htm?s_cid=mm7035e5_e&ACSTrackingID=USCDC_921-DM64772&ACSTrackingLabel=MMWR%20Early%20Release%20-%20Vol.%2070%2C%20August%2031%2C%202021&deliveryName=USCDC_921-DM64772

“ The findings in this study are subject to at least six limitations. First, the risk estimates from this study reflect the risk for myocarditis among persons who received a diagnosis of COVID-19 during an outpatient or inpatient health care encounter and do not reflect the risk among all persons who had COVID-19. Second, misclassification of COVID-19 and myocarditis is possible because conditions were determined by ICD-10-CM codes, which were not confirmed by clinical data (e.g., laboratory tests or cardiac imaging) and could be improperly coded or coded with a related condition (e.g., pericarditis). Third, encounters for COVID-19, myocarditis, and COVID-19 vaccination occurring outside of hospital systems that contribute to PHD-SR are not included within this data set. Fourth, underlying medical conditions and alternative etiologies for myocarditis (e.g., autoimmune disease) were not ascertained or excluded. Fifth, the obtained measures of association could be biased because of the choice of the comparison group (all patients without COVID-19) and if physicians were more likely to suspect or diagnose myocarditis among patients with COVID-19. Finally, the findings represent a convenience sample of patients from hospitals reporting to PHD-SR and might not be generalizable to the U.S. population.”

“The real discussion is whether the vaccine can reduce the naturally occuring risk enough that the risk from the vaccine is much lower than not vaccinating. “

We know now that the “vaccine” CLEARLY does not prevent you from catching covid, yet the conclusion you somehow reach is:

“waiting until those naturally occuring infections take their toll is not a reasonable idea”

So your advice to a 15 year old is: take the risk of a shot even though your odds of getting Covid are the same if you don’t get a shot? Brilliant!

“The size of the safety database is not large enough to detect any potential risks of myocarditis associated with vaccination. ” Because it is so low that it takes millions of doses to get a blip in the data. That is not a bad thing- it’s a a good thing.

You do realize that the duration of that study was woefully inadequate, don’t you? It was cursory, that is all.
Yet, it is amply sufficient to satisfy our current leaders in the FDA.
What was it, a month or two in duration, if that? That’s so weak.
And what is normally the minimum for such a study, 1 to 4 years? Or more?

What could go wrong?

Apparently, the FDA requiring that information, before determining a drug can be distributed and administered, is no longer even an issue.

This whole process has been rushed. I have no problem with people deciding that they are not concerned with waiting for long term safety data to be collected. I just ask that those people respect that other people would rather wait for sufficient time to pass to be able to collect sufficient observational data. Especially since clinical trials were terminated after less than a year meaning we don’t have access to our best tool for weeding out statistical noise

I did see that.

Moderna, too, right, half dose or something?

Must have slipped my mind.

So much for that theory.

Authorization of boosters or additional doses, before Approval of initial doses is what perplexes me.

It’s like, “we haven’t really decided for sure that having given this to you was totally a good idea or not in the first place, but, here have another dose”.

I was just trying to figure out what the need to study mixing and matching was all about.

Seems superfluous.

Did they think it would work better that way?

Like one of each or something?

You know the polio vaccine is 4 doses and DtaP is 5. Influenza is yearly. You think the polio vaccine is a “bait and switch?”

What?
No way to compare it to the ultra obvious “barn door/escaped horse” scenario?

Yet, the similarities are uncanny.

Did they tell people it was gonna be 2 doses under emergency use authorization, then make moves to mandate it, then switch it to 4 doses?

A polio oral vaccination is a lot easier to swallow than having a covid “jab” multiple times, and I’m sure a one would get a whole lot more participation.
Tell people only two “jabs” are need, then tell them after the fact that they’ll need more, especially after making them mandatory, is a classic “bait and switch” in my book.

Long-term COVID-19 side effects could include memory loss and other cognitive dysfunctions commonly labeled as “brain fog,” according to a study released that examined 740 patients in the Mount Sinai Health System.

And where are the studies being conducted on the possibility long term vaccine side effects that could include memory loss and other cognitive dysfunctions commonly labeled as “brain fog”?

Oh, that’s right, they don’t want to know about that…

Totally legit.
Like Ivermectin for Covid19.

How’s that go?
Correlation is not causation?

I just got vaccinated, what were we talking about again? I forgot.
My memory is totally not the same since the, um, um, damnit!

What were we talking about?

Oh yeah anecdotal evidence of, of, of, shit! It was right there, too!

Oh, yeah, it was the increasing vaccinated hospitalizations/
and their relationship to the increase in vaccinations/and how it’s not really an issue with 60% vaccinated population unless the vaccines efficacy is only 75% or less.

Wait! I remember now! It was about studying memory loss from vaccination!

I totally forgot we were even having that conversation…

It totally must not have anything to do with the jabs though, because I won’t be fully vaccinated for 5 more days…
Or is it 4?

Oh, wait, what, ding, it’s 5:34

More likely from Covid than Covid vaccines, like Myocarditis.

Exactly, haven’t you heard?

Sweden has totally paused Covid19. And is full throttle on the jabs, for that very reason.

And Snoopy is totally Pro Fauci.

Lots of beagles are totally consumed with him, now

Because he provides them with drugs.

They just can’t vocalize it, anymore, and it’s really eating at them.

Eating them alive, actually.

Where did you say we could get those shots for our little kids?

I keep forgetting.

And my head feels like it is full of Moderna pea soup…
