Injury Traffic Collision in Eureka Closes Two Lanes of Henderson

At approximately 10:30 this morning, two vehicles–a white Toyota Highlander pulling a U-Haul and a grey Hyundai collided at the intersection of H and Henderson in Eureka.

According to reports over the scanner, at least one person is injured.

The Incident Commander reported to dispatch that the number one and three lanes of Henderson are blocked.

Interesting that Lanes #1 and #3 on Henderson are closed when Henderson is a two-lane street. H Street, however, does have three lanes.

Also interesting that where the toyota rests, H St is only 2 lanes as well.

People treat H Street like a freeway given its 3-lane width. “Gotta make that next light, ya know.”

Hope the injured person will be fine. Wonder what is inside that black plastic bag in front of the Highlander.

Obviously one of the cars just darted out in front of the other one and wasn’t wearing bright reflective clothing.

I was in accident at that exact intersection 2 months ago. Of course, mine was because the brakes on my Explorer were failing. But it’s almost always this intersection where collisions happen. Is there a short in the traffic light or something??
