Just after 10 a.m., a vehicle reportedly struck a home in the 2400 block of Kenmar Road in the Fortuna.

The crash ruptured the gas infrastructure leading to the home, according to the Incident Commander speaking over the scanner. Officers evacuated residents from homes on either side of the crash site, the IC stated over the scanner.

A little after 11 a.m. however, the situation was resolved and residents were able to return to their homes.

The line to a house is not the gas main, it’s the service line. The main is larger and usually runs under the street or sidewalk .

Good catch Ice. I am sure not everyone knows that. Glad there was not a fire.

Good details…something the ambulance chasing “reporters” generally lack.
