[UPDATE 11:32 p.m.] Multiple Structures on Fire in Lucerne Near Highway 20
In 20 minutes, that glow has exploded into a full-blown fire that has spread to multiple structures, burned down PG&E power lines, and has resulted in a robust response from fire personnel including three fire engines.
PG&E has been called to the scene to address the downed power lines.
According to Caltrans QuickMap, southbound Hwy 20 is slowed to a crawl in the area.
Scanner traffic as of 9:25 p.m. depicts fire personnel attempting to access a fire hydrant near the scene but finding them too far away from the incident to be useful.

UPDATE 9:37 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicates 2nd Avenue will be shut down all the way to Highland Avenue as fire resources battle the blaze.

UPDATE 10:22 p.m.: Dispatch is inquiring if any personnel working the Robin Fire could be redirected to respond to reports of a possible gunshot victim near Highway 20 and Laurel Del Drive also in Lucerne.
UPDATE 11:32 p.m.: As per several eyewitnesses, the fire is moving into the mop-up stage. Scanner traffic indicates the Red Cross has been contacted and supports are being sought for those affected by the Robin Fire.

That’s too bad. I wonder if there is any connection between the fire and the gunshot victim?
For years, and years we have always stopped in Lucerne for a soft freeze ice cream cone.
Clear Lake seems to be getting more than it’s fair share of fires. Hope no one was hurt or killed in the fire, and the gunshot victim will be ok. Just leaves me wondering what caused the fire, and who did the shooting. Thank you firefighters!
