Suspect Seriously Injured After Last Night’s Shooting in McKinleyville

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two injured last night in McKinleyville.
On Sept. 27, 2021, at about 9:15 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a sports bar on the 1600 block of Central Avenue for the report of a shooting.
Prior to deputies’ arrival, a 49-year-old male victim was transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the arm. He is expected to survive his injuries.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the reported suspect, a 54-year-old male, who had serious injuries to his face. The male was transported to an out of area hospital where he is in critical condition.
Through further investigation, deputies learned that the suspect approached the victim inside the bar and began shooting at the victim. Bystanders inside the bar subdued the suspect, detaining him until peace officers’ arrival. At some point during this incident, the suspect also received serious injuries. No other patrons of the bar were injured as a result of this incident. The relationship between the suspect and victim is unknown and currently under investigation at this time.
Due to the pending investigation and serious nature of his injuries, the suspect has not been arrested at this time and his identity is being withheld.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Division is investigating this incident.

It sounds like the suspect should also be charged with resisting arrest.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the bystanders may just have been friends of the guy who got shot, hence the “serious injuries” suffered “at some point during this incident”. I’ll go further out on that limb and suggest that if the shooter started it all the Deputies won’t scrutinize the facial thumping all that much.

Okay. I’ll play along. “Woke” is a sniveling cowardly, self entitled, “been shielded by mommy and daddy my whole life” whiner who suddenly has all the answers after an incident takes place… but never stands up while it’s happening…because, back the the beginning, they are a coward.
Bar is going to have to replace a broken pool cue.
This out of towner came to the wrong bar to start trouble. He ended up leaving on a gurney to the ICU. Hope he doesn’t make it
