[UPDATE 8:44 p.m.] Foot Chase Ensues After Law Enforcement Pulls Over Vehicle West of Willits

Foot PursuitScanner traffic starting at 3:25 p.m. indicates Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies are currently engaged in a foot pursuit after stopping a vehicle near the Cemetery District off Redwood on Highway 20 west of Willits proper.

The suspect is reportedly in the brush somewhere between Pepperwood Drive and the cemetery. Willits Police Department Officers have been requested to assist in the pursuit and California Highway Patrol Officers from Humboldt are out assisting as well.

UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: Scanner traffic has revealed new details regarding the situation. The vehicle associated with the incident is a red truck reportedly stolen out of Lake County. The suspect is described as a white male adult.

UPDATE 8:36 p.m.: The individual sought by law enforcement after this afternoon’s foot pursuit has been located and arrested, as per scanner traffic. The suspect was located on the corner of Highway 20 and Blosser Lane reportedly hiding behind a bush. This photo, sent to us by a reader, depict law enforcement gathered after they apprehended the suspect.
