It started from a VW bus that caught fire on the way up the hill… the driver got out and then the flames spread to the grass along the side of the road. The little bit of wind that was there was enough to spread it up the hill.

Finland rakes their forests and they have no wildfires. Trump 2024 because Amerika needs a totalitarian fascist state.

Holy sh*t, I passed that guy by the vet on my way down the hill. Wish I’d have left a couple minutes later, always have a bunch of fire extinguishers in my truck.

The value of having a FIRE EXTINGUISHER in your car cannot be overestimated. This person might have saved their car and not lit up the grassland, all for $25

Did anyone on AP rd or Dyerville get an alert on the county system???
Kym do you know if an alert was sent?

This is the second fire off of AP road in the last few weeks and no one seems to have gotten an alert for either.

Michelle Bushnell, how can we make sure we on AP road get alerts?
Is there money in the fire funding for each VFD to be able to have the county send an alert or a system they can send localized alert?
Itd be great if fire funding included a way to offer everyone free fire extinguishers, I carry one and think everyone ought to have that and/or a pisspump in their vehicle.

We never got an alert either, I live really close to it. I saw the smoke at 7:02. I tried calling it in, but the fire dept phone was busy. I threw some shovels in my truck and raced up there. It was spreading really fast and fire crews were getting on it when I got to the scene. I turned around and went home to pack up and leave, as it was moving the in the direction of my house.

Pack a fire extinguisher in the car, in the house. Download a UTube video on how to use it or talk to the VFD. Just do it.

I agree, it’s contentious. I guess you’re between a rock and a hard place. I wouldn’t want your job. You can’t please everyone, that’s for sure. Keep on being you, you are uniquely qualified for this .

If you want higher quality, stop buying your weed from corporations (even small ones). If you can’t find good weed in Humboldt, you are not looking very hard.
