That section of Hwy 3 from the dump road to peanut claims lives frequently. People don’t take into account the curving roads and the chance of deer, dog, or person possibly being around the bend. We do get pedestrians and bicycle riders through that area.

How, in 2021, can people still not recognize the value of seatbelts?

How can they not recognize how stupid drunk driving is.

At the end of the day everyone thinks it will not happen to them.

I used to be in EMS and death is not real to the average person becuase they never see it in the field or axtually watch someone die.

Because masks work 😉 I put a chain link fence around my house to keep mosquitoes out. The government told me it will work 🤷🏻‍♂️

Impressive confirmation of your MAGA credentials. Honesty counts, you get a point for that. We, who are about to lose our democracy, salute you. From the bottom of the Red Sea, Osama bin Laden salutes you.

Your description pretty much covers all of the public-access roadways here in Humboldt and miles around, if not the nation. People refuse to adjust driving to ambient conditions and reasonable safety concerns. Run red lights, run people and critters over, run off the road.
And then, the impaired driving. . . .

We have had at least 3 fatalities along that section of road in the last few months. That is not quite as generic as all the public access roads.

Agree. I may have over-generalized. It’s not quite the same but the terrible driving habits affect urban and rural roads alike. Do you think those 3 fatalities are the result of bad driving or sheer bad luck?

Driving too fast for conditions is my guess. Alcohol was suspected in two of the 3, but the other one was unexplained.

I witnessed this accident. They were traveling towards my carpool and crossed over the highway in front of us, hit a tree, did a 360⁰ and hit another tree. It was a very violent crash. The guy never hit the brakes! No skidmarks… the driver took his last breath in front of us. The passenger was in bad shape. The dog, a young German Shepherd, came to me with a broken leg and frantic. I had to help with traffic control and she ran off. She’s still out there.

People need to drive like their lives depend on it!!! Stop drinking and driving! Use your damn seat belt! Pull your head out of your asses!!! I never want to come across this again! These guys were young. Teach your kids!
