UPDATE 5:55 p.m.: Humboldt Bay Fire spokesperson Amy Conlin told us that the fire was isolated to the apartment of origin. The Red Cross provided assistance to the two occupants of the apartment. “However, everyone else is back in their apartment with their power turned back on,” said Conlin.

“The bedroom of origin is completely destroyed and [there is] significant smoke damage to the kitchen and living room,” she explained.

Conlin said that the cause was an accidental electrical fire originating from a short circuit.
